Florida freshman DL Desmond Watson reported to spring camp weighing 432 pounds.
Watson (6'5/432) is an absolute mountain of a human being who was listed at 385 pounds before showing up 47 pounds over that already hefty mark. The Seffner, FL native is rated as a three-star prospect and 23rd best defensive tackle from the 2021 recruiting cycle. He has prototype size for a run-stuffing nose tackle capable of taking on double-teams and holding the point of attack. It will be interesting to see how the neophyte interior lineman develops once he is immersed in a SEC level training program, as Watson is already drawing comparison’s to longtime NFL DT Terrence Cody.
