Redskins signed BYU TE Devin Mahina.
Mahina (6'6/250) was a lightly used catch-first tight end in the Cougars’ offense, securing 46 career receptions for 554 yards (12.0 YPR) and five TDs. He ran 4.82 with a 29 1/2-inch vertical and 9-foot-9 broad jump at the BYU Pro Day. Mahina is a finesse tight end with mediocre athletic ability. He would do well to last more than a year or two at the end of an NFL roster.

Redskins TE Logan Paulsen traveled to North Carolina Tuesday to have his toe examined by Dr. Robert Anderson.
The Redskins are still trying to determine the severity of his injury. A trip to Dr. Anderson’s office suggests Paulsen might need toe surgery. Paulsen is a blocking tight end. Chase Dixon, Je’Ron Hamm and Devin Mahina will get more practice reps with Paulsen and Jordan Reed (hamstring) sidelined.
