Paredes struck out 11 batters over 6 1/3 scoreless innings this spring in the Grapefruit League, but was always going to face an uphill climb to crack the Phillies’ Opening Day roster. The 32-year-old lefty should be able to latch on with a new team before the end of March.

The 32-year-old hurler spent the 2018 campaign in the Dodgers’ organization, where he posted a 5.87 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 8/2 K/BB ratio in 7 2/3 innings in 15 appearances at the big league level. He’ll attempt to crack the Phillies’ Opening Day bullpen as a left-handed specialist with a strong showing in the spring.

The 32-year-old has pitched decently over the last two season for the Dodgers with a 4.50 ERA and 19/2 K/BB ratio across 16 innings. As a left-handed reliever capable of missing some bats, Paredes won’t have trouble finding a job.

He’ll also get a spring training invite. Paredes didn’t pitch professionally last season, but he’s coming off a strong showing in the Dominican Winter League. The 26-year-old southpaw has a 4.66 ERA over six seasons in the minors and will serve as roster depth.

Paredes posted a respectable 2.27 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and 53/21 K/BB ratio in 43 2/3 innings this summer for the Double-A affiliate of the Angels. He’ll function as organizational bullpen depth for the Dodgers.

The Dodgers also sent struggling outfielder Joc Pederson to OKC, placed Yu Darvish (back) on the 10-day DL and activated Curtis Granderson, who was acquired late last night in a trade with the Mets. Paredes has contributed 2 1/3 scoreless innings in the big leagues this year. He’ll function as a middle relief arm/left-handed specialist.

The move clears a spot for the newly-acquired Tony Watson on the active roster. Paredes made two scoreless appearances during his brief stint with the big club. He should be back in September.

Paredes, 30, holds a 2.23 ERA and 59/13 K/BB ratio between Double- and Triple-A this season. He’ll be making his major league debut when he gets into a game.

Paredes put up a cool 3.32 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and 73/22 K/BB ratio in 57 innings this summer for the York Revolution of the independent Atlantic League. The 29-year-old southpaw has never pitched in a major league game and is no more than organizational depth for the Halos.

Paredes will be available out of the Dodgers’ bullpen on Tuesday night against the Diamondbacks. The 31-year-old southpaw has put up a 1.86 ERA in 9 2/3 innings of relief this season at the Triple-A level.
