Arizona Diamondbacks (vs. Chicago Cubs - SP Zach Davies)
Early slate
Davies is currently allowing left-handed batters to a .226 BA which is very impressive. The Diamondbacks are batting just .231 against opposing righties. Even with a 10.0 O/U, I can see Arizona going under-owned today (which consequently has me all over them DFS wise). Left-handed Diamondbacks who show advantageous numbers against Davies include Pavan Smith, Josh VanMeter, Kole Calhoun and David Peralta. Eduardo Escobar is batting just 2 for 9 against Chicago’s SP Davies but I look for him to correct this BvP stat today. Davies has a 4.27 home ERA this season and in the month of July, Davies’ ERA is slightly higher at 4.50 (three-game starts). Despite having solid numbers vs. lefties, the lefties are the batters that I will be investing in today. Arizona deserves to be the chalk stack, let’s hope these percentages stay low. Calhoun batting 2nd gives me more confidence in my projected success for Arizona lefties. Pointsbet.com has the Diamondbacks as slight underdogs at +125 with a 10 O/U.

Philadelphia Phillies (vs. Atlanta Braves - SP Max Fried)
Bryce Harper and JT Realmuto are batting a combined 14 for 25 with two doubles and four home runs. Atlanta’s Max Fried is at a shockingly high salary of $8,100 on DK and should be very low-owned tonight against the Phillies. Fried has been pitching well over his last two starts against Miami and Tampa Bay). The thing is, these two teams are currently ranked first and fourth highest in the majors with 980 and 939 strikeouts respectively. The NBC Sports Edge MLB optimizer has Harper and Realmuto projected for 10.8 DK FP (Harper) and 10.0 DK FP (Realmuto) for tonight’s matchup against Max Fried and the Atlanta Braves. Also, I don’t hate the two-man stack here. I expect these two power bats to hit in the 2/3 holes for Philadelphia Phillies tonight. Pointsbet.com has the Phillies favored at -160 with a 7.5 O/U.
