Up this week are my mostly-for-fun 2023 player rankings. I’ve done my best to list players where they’ll be 20-game eligible next year, and the free agents-to-be are listed without teams. Players with options for next year are still listed with their current teams if those options have a legitimate chance of being exercised. Those players are noted with asterisks.

- Ozzie Albies gets the top spot here, but the first three are all very close and none rank in my overall top 40. If I wind up with a top second baseman in drafts next year - and from the look of things, that’s not going to be a priority - I’m guessing it’ll be Jazz Chisholm Jr.
- If Trea Turner leaves L.A. as a free agent this winter, I could slide Gavin Lux up several spots, assuming that it looks like he’d get to bat high in the order. Lux has a nice .292/.369/.415 line this year, but with just four homers, 22 RBI and five steals, it hasn’t resulted in a whole lot of fantasy value. There’s nothing to suggest that he’s about to bust out in the power department, but his approach is excellent, he has top-notch speed and his run potential as a No. 1 or No. 2 hitter would be terrific.
