Fernando Tatis Jr. draws first off day since May 3

Gilbert scattered four hits on the afternoon while allowing only one base on balls. He’ll look to replicate this brilliant outing as he carries a 3.28 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and a 152/33 K/BB ratio (145 1/3 innings) into Wednesday’s showdown against the Brewers in Milwaukee.

As a team, the Yankees were only able to muster four total hits against Logan Gilbert and company, with García accounting for half of them — and the lone extra-base hit — himself. The 26-year-old infielder has seen his production slow a bit since the move to the Yankees, hitting .258/.303/.452 with one homer and two RBI over 33 plate appearances in his first eight games with the Bombers.

No word yet on the reason for Turang’s absence from the lineup, but it sounds like he may be dealing with some sort of ailment. Brewers’ skipper Pat Murphy should have an update on his status before Thursday’s game starts.

It looks to be nothing more than a routine night off for the dynamic 33-year-old infielder. Miguel Rojas will start in his place at shortstop and will bat sixth for the Dodgers against Brewers’ left-hander Shane Drohan on Thursday evening in Los Angeles.

Julien had been designated for assignment earlier in the week and passed through waivers unclaimed. The 27-year-old hit just .208 (49-for-236) with three homers and five stolen bases in 88 games with the Rockies this season. He’ll continue to function as extra infield depth at the Triple-A level.

The 31-year-old righty was released by the Padres last weekend after posting a 5.26 ERA, and a 37/24 K/BB ratio over 53 innings of work. He’ll add rotation depth for the Twins.

Robinson had passed through waivers unclaimed last weekend after being designated for assignment, but it appears that rather than accepting the outright assignment to Triple-A Oklahoma City, the two sides will part ways. He’s now free to peddle his wares on the open market.

The deal also includes a club option for the 2027 season. Gonsolin is still in the process of recovering from the internal brace procedure on his right elbow. The Royals will bring him in and get a first-hand look at his rehab and recovery and if all goes well they could stumble into an intriguing rotation option for the 2027 season.

The Royals needed to free up a spot on their 40-man roster for the addition of Tony Gonsolin on Thursday and unfortunately Morgan was the odd man out this time. The 30-year-old hurler posted a 5.12 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and a 16/9 K/BB ratio over 19 1/3 innings in 16 appearances with the Royals this season. He could attract some interest on waivers.
