Brewers option Blake Perkins to Nashville

The Brewers figure to have him replace Blace Perkins, who opened up in the minors before being recalled as Andrew Vaughn’s replacement, and can give him some starts in left field against left-handers.

With the news that Jackson Chourio is going to be out for the next two to four weeks with a fractured hand, the Brewers quickly recalled Perkins from AAA. He will battle Jake Bauers for a chance to start with cheerio out. We would guess that Perkins will see most of his starts against left-handed pitching

Henderson is the headliner among this group. Given the injuries in the Brewers’ rotation, he had a shot to earn an opportunity with the big league club to start the season but he has been fighting elbow soreness of his own throughout the spring which held him back. He’ll start the year biding his time in the rotation at Triple-A Nashville.
