Esteury Ruiz hits solo homer in loss to Brewers

Henry spent a few days with the Phillies as extra catching depth while Garrett Stubbs and Rafael Marchan were both stationed on the injured list. He’ll return to his post at Triple-A where he’ll bide his time until he’s needed once again.

Unfortunately for the 31-year-old right-hander, Conley was promoted from Double-A on Sunday but he winds up getting sent back down without getting the chance to make his big league debut. Expect the Mets to try to find him another opportunity to do so before the season comes to an end.

Bowden was designated for assignment on Tuesday, just a couple of days after being called up to the big leagues. The 31-year-old southpaw allowed four runs over one innings in his lone appearance with the A’s. He’ll continue to function as extra bullpen depth at the Triple-A level.

It’s a bit surprising that no other teams were willing to take a chance on the former top-100 prospect on waivers after he was designated for assignment over the weekend. He’ll head to a stress-free environment to work on his command and reclaim the form that once made him one of the game’s most intriguing up-and-coming arms.

The 34-year-old slugger was designated for assignment on Tuesday as the Angels waived the white flag on the season and opted to part with his expiring contract. Soler hit just .203/.291/.373 with 12 homers and 49 RBI in 361 plate appearances with the Halos this season. He’s now free to explore opportunities on the open market. A reunion with the Braves could make sense for both sides here.

Wilcox delivered a pitch to Cole Keith in the seventh and immediately knew that something wasn’t right, prompting a visit from the training staff and his eventual removal. He appeared to be grabbing at his left side as he was walking off, making it seem like it could be an oblique issue. Expect the Mariners to provide an update on his status after the game.

The 28-year-old southpaw had been stationed at the Triple-A level where he posted a 2.78 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and a 26/7 K/BB ratio over 32 1/3 innings. With the lack of quality bullpen depth around the league, La Sorsa shouldn’t be out of work for long.
