There’s a chance he gets another spot start this season to keep Boston’s regular starters fresh for the playoffs.

Burkhalter threw 23 pitches on Tuesday, so, despite just being called up by the Braves, he’s being sent back down to the minors. He has a 1.48 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and 29/9 K/BB ratio in 24 1/3 innings at Triple-A, so he should get another chance this month.
