Jesús Sánchez absent from Jays’ lineup on Sunday

Miller finds himself back in the majors with Edgardo Henriquez hitting the shelf with a back issue. The 27-year-old former top pitching prospect allowed one run over three innings during his season debut earlier this month. He figures to operate in low-leverage spots out of the Dodgers’ bullpen, which pretty much extinguishes any avenues to fantasy relevance.

It’s a significant loss for Los Angeles’ high-leverage relief mix as Henriquez has been one of their more reliable arms. The hard-throwing 24-year-old has posted an impressive 2.85 ERA and 71/25 K/BB ratio across 60 innings this season. He was probably next in line for save opportunities if lefty Tanner Scott continued to struggle after blowing a save against the Marlins over the weekend. He’s done for the remainder of the regular season, but figures to be ready for the outset of the postseason.

No surprise here with lefty Reid Detmers toeing the rubber for Los Angeles in this one. The 21-year-old slugging prospect has started just five times in 13 games since arriving in the big leagues earlier this month. He’s managed to supply three homers during that span, but isn’t playing enough to make a real impact outside of extremely deep formats.

Schmidt has wrapped up an extended minor league rehab assignment and will return to New York in a relief role. The 30-year-old doesn’t offer any real fantasy appeal over the final two weeks, but he should make an impact for the Yankees in the playoffs. He’s been out since undergoing Tommy John surgery last year.

Montero is on track to start Wednesday’s series finale against the Blue Jays. The 26-year-old was away from the club on paternity leave over the weekend. He’s struggled a bit in recent outings, which makes it challenging to trust him as a viable fantasy option outside of extremely deep mixed leagues.

Díaz heads back to the minors with starter Keider Montero back from paternity leave. The 26-year-old has allowed 11 runs over six innings of work in the big leagues this season.

Smith-Shawver has posted an inflated 7.71 ERA across 21 innings over five starts since making it back from last year’s Tommy John surgery in late July. The 23-year-old’s stuff should play up considerably in shorter bursts out of the bullpen and he figures to make Atlanta’s postseason roster. It’s unclear how the Braves are going to fill his rotation spot since he was lined up to face the Cubs on Wednesday.

Devers hit the shelf with a season-ending core muscle injury over the weekend. The Giants are expected to provide an official return timetable following the procedure, but he’s likely to have a relatively normal offseason and be ready for spring training. The 29-year-old slugger came up just short in his bid to become the first San Francisco hitter to reach the 40-homer plateau since Barry Bonds, finishing with 37 round-trippers in 148 games. He blasted 18 homers over his final 52 games following the All-Star break.

Hao-Yu Lee takes over at second base with Keith heading to the bench. It’s a bit unclear how much of a concern the issue is at the moment. An update on his status should be available postgame.

It’s no surprise since Basallo hasn’t really looked like himself for a couple weeks. The 22-year-old former top prospect is out of the lineup for Monday’s game against the Mets with Carlos Narváez taking over behind the dish. It sounds like he’s going to play through the lingering issue for the final two weeks, but the Orioles don’t want to take any chances with one of their key young players.
