Daylen Lile delivered a three-run homer as a pinch-hitter in the seventh to lead the Nationals to a 6-3 win over the Phillies on Tuesday.
Lile was batting for Dylan Crews, who hit a ball 407 feet to center on the very first pitch of the bottom of the first. That, though, turned into an out. Once Cristopher Sánchez exited in the seventh, Lile hit in Crews’ place against Jonathan Bowlan and sent another ball 407 feet, but this one was about 20 feet right of Crews’ shot and sailed over the wall. It was Lile’s 21st homer of the year. He was hitting .132/.195/.263 in 11 games this month.
