  • TB Third Baseman #13
Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports that the Rays will recall top prospect Junior Caminero before Tuesday’s game against the Astros.
Caminero is widely considered the top prospect still in the minor leagues, and even while missing a month with a quad injury, the infielder has hit .276 with 13 home runs and 34 RBI for Triple-A Durham. The 21-year-old has previous MLB experience from last year, and while he won’t help in the stolen base category, he has the tools to help everywhere else. Caminero is absolutely a player to add for the final six weeks of the season.
  • COL Shortstop #7
Brendan Rodgers has been scratched from the lineup Saturday against the Cubs.
Rodgers was slated to hit fifth and play second base against the Cubs, but instead it will Aaron Schunk at the keystone and hitting ninth. There should be an update on why Rodgers is absent shortly.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #31
Tyler Glasnow has been diagnosed with an elbow sprain and is likely out for the rest of 2024.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts made the announcement before Saturday’s game against Atlanta. There was hope after the initial scans Friday that Glasnow had avoided a season-ender, but now Roberts believes it’s very likely he’s out for the rest of the campaign. If so, he ends the year with a 3.49 ERA and 168 strikeouts over 134 1/3 innings.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #22
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Saturday that he doesn’t believe Clayton Kershaw (toe) will return before the end of the season.
Roberts said he “doesn’t see how it’s on the table” for the Kershaw to return before the end of the regular campaign, but he was hopeful that the 36-year-old could return for the postseason. The future Hall of Famer might be able to help the Dodgers try and win a championship, but he can be safely discarded in redraft leagues.
  • BAL Relief Pitcher #71
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told reporters that Jacob Webb (elbow) could return Sunday.
Webb was expected to return earlier in the month, but the Orioles have taken precaution with the 31-year-old in his rehab assignment. Webb will give the Orioles some added depth to the bullpen as they try and secure either the top Wild Card spot or the AL East.
  • MIN Shortstop #4
Carlos Correa is hitting sixth and playing shortstop Saturday against the Reds.
Correa will be playing for the first time in over two months while dealing with plantar fasciitis. The 29-year-old will likely move up in the lineup in the coming days, but for now will (potentially) have the chance to drive in players like Trevor Larnach and Byron Buxton.
  • LAD First Baseman #5
Freddie Freeman is hitting cleanup and playing first base Saturday against Atlanta.
Against his former team, Freeman will hit cleanup for the first time in his lustrous MLB career. Teoscar Hernandez will hit third against Chris Sale and the Atlanta staff.
  • TB Third Baseman #24
Christopher Morel (Achilles) is not in the starting lineup for Saturday’s bout against the Guardians.
Morel is out with Achilles discomfort, and was expected to miss this contest after leaving Friday with the injury. The hope is the 25-year-old can return to the lineup Sunday.
  • BOS Left Fielder #7
Masataka Yoshida went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI to lead Boston to a 7-1 win over the Yankees on Saturday.
Yoshida put the Red Sox on the board with a ground-rule double in the fourth inning to score a run. Wilyer Abreu would bring him in to score on a single. Yoshida later brought two more runs across on a bases-loaded single in the fifth. The 31-year-old designated hitter is slashing a solid .291/.359/.436 with ten homers and 54 RBI across 384 plate appearances.
  • BOS Third Baseman #11
Rafael Devers went 1-for-2 with two runs scored, two RBI, a stolen base, and two walks against the Yankees on Saturday.
Devers was hit by a pitch in the first inning, then was intentionally walked in the fourth before he stole second and scored on a double by Masataka Yoshida. He then drove in two runs in the fifth on a base hit. The 27-year-old star third baseman is slashing .278/.360/.531 with 28 homers, 86 runs scored, and 83 RBI across 581 plate appearances.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher #66
Brayan Bello held the Yankees to one run with two strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings on his way to a win on Saturday.
Bello had a good day on the mound, holding New York to just one run into the sixth inning. Three straight base hits to start the third inning brought the Yankees’ lone run in. Bello recorded the first out in the sixth and departed at 98 pitches. The 25-year-old right-hander will take a 4.60 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, and a 142/60 K/BB ratio across 152 2/3 innings into a start against the Twins in Boston on Friday.
