Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports that the Rays will recall top prospect Junior Caminero before Tuesday’s game against the Astros.
Caminero is widely considered the top prospect still in the minor leagues, and even while missing a month with a quad injury, the infielder has hit .276 with 13 home runs and 34 RBI for Triple-A Durham. The 21-year-old has previous MLB experience from last year, and while he won’t help in the stolen base category, he has the tools to help everywhere else. Caminero is absolutely a player to add for the final six weeks of the season.

Ronald Acuña Jr. (knee) will meet with doctors in Los Angeles in the coming days.
Acuña Jr. will meet with those doctors in hopes of getting clearance to start a running program. The 27-year-old could then begin a rehab assignment after getting through that program, but there’s still no timetable for when the former MVP will return. The earliest realistic point is the middle of May, but fantasy managers will have to remain patient
  • SEA Shortstop #7
Jorge Polanco is not in the lineup Saturday against the Giants.
Polanco has swung the bat exceptionally well, but he’ll get a break for the Saturday showdown against San Francisco with Robbie Ray on the mound. Dylan Moore will be the starting third baseman against Ray and hit seventh.
  • SF Catcher #14
Patrick Bailey is not in the lineup against the Mariners on Saturday.
Bailey went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and a run scored during Friday’s extra-innings win, and his reward is a day off against Bryce Miller and the Mariners. Sam Huff will catch in Bailey’s absence.
  • LAA Third Baseman #5
Yoan Moncada is not in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Guardians.
Moncada will miss Sunday’s game after being removed due to right thumb irritation. The infielder will continue to recover on the sideline with Kyren Paris taking his spot in the lineup.
  • LAA Shortstop #2
Luis Rengifo (hamstring) is hitting second and playing third base against the Guardians.
Rengifo left Friday’s game against the Guardians with tightness in his hamstring, but the exit was precautionary. The Angels remain without Yoan Moncada (thumb), so Rengifo will handle the hot corner and Kyren Paris in the lineup at second base.
  • CHC Catcher #15
Carson Kelly went 2-for-3 with a home run, four RBI, and a walk to power the Cubs to a 7-1 win over the Padres on Saturday.
Kelly had another excellent day at the plate. He got the scoring started in the second inning, knocking a base hit to score Dansby Swanson. After drawing a walk in the fifth, Kelly took Alek Jacob deep for a three-run blast in the sixth. The 30-year-old backstop has been productive in his time split behind the plate with Miguel Amaya. He’s hit two homers while collecting ten RBI across 22 plate appearances.
  • CHC Shortstop #7
Dansby Swanson went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored, and a walk against the Padres on Saturday.
Swanson broke his two-game hitless streak with a single to lead off the second inning before scoring on a base hit by Carson Kelly. He then took Nick Pivetta deep for a solo shot in the third. The 31-year-old shortstop is 10-for-43 on the season with three homers, seven RBI, and a steal.
  • SD Second Baseman #4
Luis Arraez went 2-for-3 against the Cubs on Saturday.
After going hitless over his first four contests, Arraez has hit safely in four of his last five, including a pair of multi-hit efforts. The 27-year-old second baseman is yet to strike out on the season. So it’s only a matter of time before he produces more games like this.
  • CHC Starting Pitcher #16
Matthew Boyd tossed six scoreless innings with five strikeouts in a win over the Padres on Saturday.
Boyd was excellent on Saturday, shutting down the Padres over six scoreless frames. He scattered five hits and one walk while striking out five batters on eight swinging strikes. The 34-year-old left-hander has not allowed a run over 11 innings through his first two starts with a 10/4 K/BB ratio. He’ll draw a tough matchup when he takes on the Dodgers in Los Angeles on Friday.
  • SD Starting Pitcher #27
Nick Pivetta allowed three runs with four strikeouts over three innings in a loss to the Cubs on Saturday.
After shutting down the Braves in his Padres debut, Pivetta wasn’t able to quiet the hot-hitting Cubs on Saturday, going just three innings in the loss. After a scoreless first frame, his control got away from him with three walks and a base hit in the second, bringing two runs in for Chicago. Dansby Swanson took him deep for a solo homer in the third. An error and two hits loaded the bases before Pivetta struck out the final two batters to limit any more damage. The 32-year-old right-hander will look to bounce back in a good matchup against the Rockies in San Diego on Friday.
