Perales is recovering from Tommy John surgery and won’t be ready to pitch until the end of the summer at the earliest. Webb and Stock were signed to minor-league contracts and will need to be added to the 40-man roster if the Red Sox believe they can help the club at some point in 2025.

Mahle walked one and struck out three in the ballgame. Poor defense in the opening inning put runners on second and third base with zero outs, and Mahle was able to escape with only those two runs scoring. He’ll look to keep the good times rolling as he carries a 4.05 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and a 124/43 K/BB ratio (131 innings) into a rematch against the Phillies at home on Saturday.

Schwarber clobbered a 371-foot (107.0-mph EV) solo shot off of Dylan Dodd in the seventh inning that extended the Phillies’ lead to 4-1. That would be the extent of their scoring though and they would wind up falling just short. Schwarber also walked and scored on a sacrifice fly in the opening inning, finishing the afternoon 1-for-3. On the season, he’s slashing a robust .241/.357/.524 to go with his 42 long balls and 86 RBI.

Nola punched out five batters in the contest while allowing only one base on balls. The lone tally against him came on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Ronald Acuña Jr. in the sixth inning. Nola exited with a 4-1 lead and in line for a victory, but the Phillies’ bullpen couldn’t hang on for him. The 33-year-old hurler got 11 whiffs on 93 pitches on the day, posting a CSW of 22 percent. He’ll look to continue his resurgence and further improve upon his 4.76 ERA and 1.37 WHIP when he takes on these same Braves in Atlanta on Friday.

The 24-year-old superstar tagged Brewers’ left-hander Kyle Harrison for a 402-foot (105.5-mph EV) two-run blast that extended the Reds’ lead to 6-3. He then added a two-run double in the fifth that gave them an 8-6 lead that they would never relinquish. For the season, he’s now slashing an impressive .280/.360/.492 with 23 homers, 66 RBI and 24 stolen bases in 556 plate appearances.

The 24-year-old infielder singled in the second inning and scored on Sal Stewart’s sacrifice fly. He then smacked an RBI double in the third that extended the Reds’ lead to 4-0. Brito also led off the fifth inning with a walk and scored on a two-run double by Elly De La Cruz. It was a strong game in what has been a dismal 2026 season with the Reds, as Brito is slashing just .210/.286/.339 with just one homer, eight RBI and a 20/6 K/BB ratio in his 70 plate appearances.

Stewart plated a run in the second inning with a sacrifice fly that increased the Reds’ advantage to 3-0. He then singled in the fourth inning and deftly swiped second and third base before being left stranded there. He’s having an outstanding rookie season, slashing .268/.338/.483 with 31 homers, 107 RBI and 15 stolen bases.

Singer struggled badly with his command in this one, issuing a season-high six walks on the day while striking out three. After starting the day with three scoreless frames, the Reds got to him for three runs each in the fourth and fifth innings — including a two-run blast by Jake Bauers. Singer got six swings and misses on 97 pitches on the day, posting a CSW of 24 percent. Now 6-13 on the year, he’ll bring an uninspiring 5.03 ERA and 1.47 WHIP into a rematch against the Brewers in Milwaukee on Saturday.

Bauers led off the second inning with a walk, then was picked off of first base. He atoned for that mistake in the fourth inning, crushing a 408-foot (109.8-mph EV) two-run shot off of Brady Singer that pulled the Brewers to within two runs at 4-2. He also walked in the fifth inning and scored on Brice Turang’s two-run double. He also walked and scored in the ninth. Bauers finished the day 1-for-2 plus three walks and is now slashing .270/.395/.493 with 24 long balls and 78 RBI on the season.

Harrison also issued four free passes on the afternoon while striking out four. The Brewers were hopeful that Harrison would bounce back after giving up nine runs against the Cubs on Monday, but he clearly still wasn’t right in this one. The Reds scored against him in every inning, including a two-run blast by Elly De La Cruz that ultimately chased him in the fourth. He got 11 whiffs on 93 pitches on the day, posting a CSW of 27 percent. He’ll try to stop the slide as he carries a 3.66 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and a 134/33 K/BB ratio (110 2/3 innings) into a rematch against the Reds on Sunday.

Perdomo was on first base and running to second when he was struck by a 93-mph line drive off the bat of Ketel Marte. He remained on the ground for several minutes before ultimately being able to walk off the field under his own power. He’ll head for further evaluation but will almost certainly have to pass through the concussion protocol before he’s cleared to return to action.
