No real surprises here as the Pirates announced earlier on Monday that Carmen Mlodzinski would break camp as the club’s fifth starter over Harrington. The 23-year-old top pitching prospect figures to break into the majors at some point later this year.

Leo Rivas had the game-winning hit in the 10th. Unlike his last homer into the Crawford Boxes in Houston on Sunday night, Raleigh’s homer tonight was no cheapy; he hit the ball 410 feet to left center. It was his third farthest-hit ball of the season. He now has 14 homers and 47 RBI in 95 games.

No further word yet on his status. Adames, who has also been dealing with back issues, singled and scored against the Red Sox before departing in the fifth inning. If he’s forced to the IL, the Giants could give the recently acquired Shay Whitcomb a look at third base, with Christian Koss moving to short.

St. Louis’ rotation recently suffered injuries to Hunter Dobbins and Andre Pallante, so it remains to be seen how the Cardinals handle Leahy going forward. His next start lines up at home against the Pirates.

Junk struck out two in the outing. It’s a strong outcome against the highest-scoring offense in MLB, but Washington was without James Wood and CJ Abrams, plus Curtis Mead and Luis García Jr. Junk’s streaming upside is limited with so few strikeouts and so little length. He has a rematch with the Nationals in his next start, this time on the road.

Hernández has shown some power upside this season while hitting lefties more reliably than righties. He’s been batting inside the top three of the order whenever Miami faces a southpaw. The Marlins could see up to four left-handers this week with matchups against the Red Sox and Nationals.

Edwards appeared to be breaking out early, as the light-hitting infielder had a .166 ISO through May. Entering Sunday, that mark was just .036 since June 1. His stolen-base attempt rate has also fallen for the second straight season. He swiped 31 bases in a half-season in 2024, but he was down to 27 last year and sits at 19 in 2026 with five weeks to go.

Woo, who experienced shoulder soreness in his last start, was apparently encouraged by his performance today, but it doesn’t sound like he’s pain-free. Ideally, he’d face the Phillies on Wednesday, but that probably hinges on how he feels tomorrow.

Martinez threw 86 pitches while striking out four, lowering his ERA to 2.93. It was a bounce-back following his worst start of the season earlier this week. The performance was much-needed for the Rays, who entered the day having lost seven of nine and given up ground to the Yankees in the AL East. Martinez’s season-long ERA has been built mostly on a dominant stretch in April and May, but he’s still capable of outings like this and remains a near must-start in fantasy. He’s scheduled to pitch at home against the Padres next time out.

Baker gave up a solo homer to Colton Cowser to begin the ninth. It was worrisome after he took the loss in extra innings on Saturday, though that came with the ghost runner starting on second base. Baker then settled down and retired the side on 12 pitches, securing his league-leading 37th save of the season.
