    Orioles fired manager Brandon Hyde.

Hyde’s dismissal follows a calamitous 15-28 start, which represents the fourth-worst record in baseball this season, and leaves the Orioles in last place in a crowded AL East division. The 51-year-old skipper helped guide Baltimore to the postseason each of the previous two years, but they’ve vastly underachieved this season relative to expectations. The front office deserves its share of the blame for personnel decisions, especially on the pitching side, that fueled the club’s disappointing performance. However, the manager is usually the first to be held accountable in these situations. Hyde departs with a respectable 421-492 record over seven years at the helm dating back to 2019. Third base coach Tony Mansolino will take over as interim manager, according to a team statement.

Trevor Larnach is not in the Twins’ starting lineup for Sunday’s battle against the Padres.

It’s a rare off day for Larnach with an opposing right-hander on the mound. Alen Roden will start in his place in left field and will bat seventh for the Twins against Padres’ veteran Walker Buehler.
Mariners call up elite pitching prospect Anderson
The Seattle Mariners called up top pitching prospect Kade Anderson, who is expected to start against the Chicago Cubs this Saturday. Eric Samulski emphasizes why he should be added in all fantasy formats.

Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone told reporters on Sunday that he expects Ryan Weathers to return in some capacity before the 2026 season is through.

That suggests that the Yankees could envision him returning in a bullpen role. He’ll be shut down from throwing for the next two-to-four weeks before starting to ramp back up after landing on the injured list with a left forearm flexor strain on Sunday.

Ezequiel Tovar (illness) returned to the Rockies’ starting lineup on Sunday.

Tovar was removed from Friday night’s contest due to illness and then sat out on Saturday as he was still feeling under the weather. While his health has improved, his offensive game hasn’t, as he’s slashing a cringe-inducing .204/.251/.326 with just nine homers and 38 RBI on the season.

Rockies activated INF/OF Tyler Freeman from the 10-day injured list; optioned him to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Freeman had already been stationed at Triple-A Albuquerque on a minor league rehab assignment, and he’ll stay there for a bit longer until a spot opens up on the Rockies’ bench. The 27-year-old has hit just .247/.317/.314 with three homers, 23 RBI and six stolen bases in 288 plate appearances with the Rockies on the season.

Rockies recalled INF Ryan Ritter from Triple-A Albuquerque.

With Kyle Karros (concussion) landing on the injured list on Sunday, Ritter will return to add depth to the Rockies’ infield. The 25-year-old is just 1-for-7 (.143) in his limited action with the big league club this season and can be ignored for fantasy purposes.

Rockies placed INF Kyle Karros on the 7-day concussion injured list.

Karros had just returned from the concussion injured list on Friday, but he’s apparently still feeling the after-effects and will need to make his way through the concussion protocol once again before returning. Ryan Ritter was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move on Sunday.

Tigers optioned LHP Enmanuel De Jesus to Triple-A Toledo.

The 29-year-old southpaw has done a nice job in 30 appearances with the Tigers this season, compiling a 3.83 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and a 39/15 K/BB ratio over 42 1/3 innings. Unfortunately, he has logged a heavy workload recently and the Tigers needed to add a fresh arm for a bullpen game on Sunday. De Jesus should get another chance at the MLB level in relatively short order.

Tigers selected the contract of LHP Andrew Sears from Triple-A Toledo.

It’s the first trip to the big leagues for the 23-year-old southpaw who was a 10th round selection by the Tigers from the 2023 draft. He has done an exceptional job across four minor league levels this season, registering a 2.16 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and a 67/20 K/BB ratio over 58 1/3 innings. He’s expected to serve in a bulk role against the Royals on Sunday.

Tigers designated OF James Outman for assignment.

Outman had been on a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Toledo, but he’ll get the boot from the club’s 40-man roster as they needed the space for Andrew Sears on Sunday. With the emergence of Brett Callahan, his spot on the MLB roster became expendable.

José Ramírez is not in the Guardians’ starting lineup for Sunday afternoon’s battle against the Rockies.

The 33-year-old superstar will get a rare day off in this one, which is very unfortunate for fantasy managers as they’re at Coors Field and taking on right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano. Expect to see him off the bench if needed on Sunday. Angel Genao will start in his place at third base and bat fifth for the Guardians.
