Marlins placed RHP Tyler Zuber on the 15-day injured list with a right lat strain.
Zuber is likely done for the rest of the season given the nature of the injury with just four weeks left. The 30-year-old righty posted an underwhelming 11.70 ERA across 10 innings (nine appearances).

Konnor Griffin (forearm) said Wednesday in a local radio interview with 93.7 The Fan that he’s progressed to flat-ground throwing from a distance of 150 feet.
Griffin added that he’s thrown on back-to-back days while experiencing no issues. The 20-year-old phenom hit the injured list back in late May after being diagnosed with a low-grade flexor muscle strain in his right forearm. The key variable here for fantasy managers is that Griffin has continued hitting while ramping up his throwing progression. He remains without a definitive return timetable, but it sounds like there’s optimism he’ll be back at some point in July.
Yelich, Freeman hits lead best MLB bets
Pierre Andresen shares his favorites DraftKings picks for today's slate of MLB games, highlighting Sandy Alcantara's strikeouts thrown and hits for Julio Rodriguez, Christian Yelich and Freddie Freeman.
  • CWS Relief Pitcher #15
Sean Newcomb was removed from Wednesday’s game against the Yankees with a left triceps contusion.
Newcomb was charged with three runs on three hits and recorded a pair of outs before being hit by a line drive during a fifth-inning relief outing at Yankee Stadium. The 33-year-old reliever appears to have avoided serious injury and is day-to-day moving forward.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #23
Brandon Sproat was removed from Wednesday’s start against the Guardians with a right hamstring cramp.
Sproat was replaced by Chad Patrick just one batter after coughing up a grand slam to Daniel Schneemann in the fourth inning. He retired the first nine hitters he faced, striking out five of them, before melting down in the fourth. The 25-year-old continues to show brief flashes of dominance before his command ultimately falters and he implodes. That was the case in this one as he completely lost the feel for his fastballs, missed too many spots, and then hung a two-strike curve that Schneemann demolished. He’s obviously in jeopardy of missing his next start against the Reds on Monday. There should be some clarity on his status at some point in the next few days.
  • CHC Starting Pitcher
Cubs sent LHP Doug Nikhazy outright to Triple-A Iowa.
Nikhazy went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment earlier this week. The 26-year-old lefty has yet to make an appearance for the Cubs after being claimed off waivers from the White Sox back in late April. He’ll remain stationed at Triple-A Iowa as organizational depth.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #36
Clarke Schmidt (elbow) threw a bullpen session on Wednesday at Yankee Stadium.
Schmidt continues his throwing progression as he works his way back from last year’s Tommy John surgery. He’s on track to face hitters before the end of the month. The 30-year-old figures to be ready for an extended minor league rehab assignment in the next few weeks and should be ready to return to New York’s pitching mix at some point in the second half of the season.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #68
Royals acquired RHP Randy Dobnak from the Mariners for cash.
Dobnak heads to Triple-A Omaha as extra starting pitching depth for Kansas City. The 31-year-old righty has posted a respectable 4.24 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 39/24 K/BB ratio across 70 innings over 13 starts in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League this season. He made one appearance for the Twins last year.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #55
Royals transferred LHP Cole Ragans to the 60-day injured list.
Ragans will seek additional medical opinions on his injured elbow this week after experiencing a setback in his rehabilitation process. There should be more clarity on his next steps and potential return timeline soon, but it does not appear he’s close to rejoining Kansas City’s rotation. The 28-year-old lefty has been on the injured list with an elbow impingement since early May.
  • CLE Relief Pitcher #62
Erik Sabrowski (elbow) struck out two and recorded two outs on Wednesday in a minor league rehab appearance for Double-A Akron.
Sabrowski threw 20 pitches in his first rehab outing as he works his way back from elbow inflammation that put him on the injured list back in late May. The 28-year-old southpaw is one of the most underrated pitchers in the game, posting a sparkling 1.43 ERA and 100/38 K/BB ratio across 63 innings since 2024.
  • SD Relief Pitcher #52
Padres sent RHP Ty Adcock outright to Triple-A El Paso.
Adcock passed through waivers unclaimed following his removal from San Diego’s roster last weekend. The 29-year-old didn’t end up making an appearance for the Padres after signing a one-year split contract last offseason.
  • LAA Catcher #55
Angels acquired C Tyler Heineman from the Blue Jays for cash.
Heineman heads to Los Angeles to back up starter Logan O’Hoppe following his removal from Toronto’s catching mix last week. The 34-year-old was clearly passed by rookie Brandon Valenzuela and lost hit spot with the Blue Jays once starter Alejandro Kirk returned from the injured list. He’s a strong defender, but doesn’t offer much at the plate anymore. He can be safely ignored in all fantasy formats.
