Garrett had the surgery Wednesday. He posted a 3.90 ERA in 58 appearances this season before landing on the IL in mid-September. The Mets could choose to non-tender him and perhaps try to re-sign him to a two-year minor league deal this winter.

It’ll be Hader’s second time facing hitters as he continues to work his way back from a biceps issue that caused him to open the season on the injured list. The 32-year-old upper-echelon closer isn’t eligible to be activated from the 60-day injured list until at least late May. He’ll presumably be cleared to kick off a rehab assignment at some point soon.

Imai is starting to ramp up his throwing program after hitting the injured list with arm fatigue earlier this month. The 27-year-old underwent an MRI that didn’t reveal any structural damage. He also divulged to reporters that he’s struggled to make the transition to life in the majors both on and off the field during his Astros debut. He doesn’t appear close to returning to Houston at this juncture.

Loftin gets the call to join Kansas City’s bench with veteran Jonathan India hitting the injured list with a shoulder ailment. The 27-year-old is capable of handling multiple spots defensively and makes sense in a reserve role at the highest level. He’s gotten into 147 games for the Royals since 2023.

The encouraging news here is that India didn’t suffer a complete dislocation, but he’s going to be on the shelf for a couple weeks. The versatile 29-year-old has played sparingly for the Royals over the past couple weeks ever since Michael Massey came back from the injured list.

Moniak takes a seat with lefty Justin Wrobleski toeing the rubber for Los Angeles during Monday’s series opener at Coors Field. Jordan Beck takes over in left field with Tyler Freeman in the opposite corner. The 27-year-old outfielder is up to six round-trippers through 16 games after belting a career-high 24 over 135 games in his Rockies debut last year. He’s unexpectedly morphed into a potent power hitter after arriving in the big leagues a half-decade ago with almost zero over-the-fence pop.

Wilson gets the nod to join Seattle’s active roster in a bench role with versatile Brendan Donovan heading to the injured list with a groin strain. The 27-year-old former first-round pick has bounced around the last couple seasons, but got into 34 games for the Guardians this past year.

It’s a tough break for the Mariners, and fantasy managers, since Donovan was off to a phenomenal start at the dish in his Seattle debut, slashing a robust .304/.437/.518 with three homers, eight RBI and one steal through 18 games. The versatile 29-year-old appears unlikely to require a lengthy absence since top prospect Colt Emerson wasn’t brought up to take over at third base. He’ll get some extra time off to put a lingering groin and hip issue to bed after implying that he believes they may be related to the sports hernia surgery he underwent last October. There should be a definitive return timetable at some point in the near future. It’ll be Leo Rivas taking over at the hot corner as a temporary stopgap in his absence.

The procedural move opens up a spot on Seattle’s 40-man roster. Mastrobuoni has been on the shelf since suffering a calf strain while playing in last month’s World Baseball Classic.

There’s cause for concern here with Realmuto missing his second consecutive contest after exiting a game over the weekend with lower back tightness. Rafael Marchán will continue handling the catching duties for Philadelphia in his absence.

Basso gets the call to join the Athletics’ relief mix ahead of Monday’s series opener against the Mariners after spending the first couple weeks of the year in the minors. The 28-year-old southpaw has compiled a serviceable 3.44 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 27/14 K/BB ratio across 34 innings at the highest level since 2024.
