The Mets are in the market for a centerfielder, but it’s unlikely to be Pache. The 27-year-old was a former top prospect, but he has not played major league games since 2024. He is still a plus defender at all three outfield positions, but he spent all of last year at Triple-A in the Diamondbacks organization, slashing .251/.351/.389 with five home runs and 25 RBI in 70 games for the Reno Aces.

It’ll take Griffin a couple additional rehab contests to get back up to speed following lengthy layoff recovering from a finger injury. However, he’s trending towards making it back to Pittsburgh’s lineup relatively soon, possibly as early as Friday’s game against the Angels when he’s first eligible to come off the injured list.

Martínez’ home run was his 14th of the season. He hit a two-run shot off Blue Jays reliever Michael Lorenzen in the seventh inning. Martínez hit .324 in August, but only had two home runs. He’s hitting .249 with a .728 OPS and 50 RBI this year.

San Diego had 18 total bases to Cincinnati’s 10 tonight, but the Padres went 0-for-10 with RISP, compared to 3-for-8 for the Reds. Rodríguez’s two hits were liners that left the bat at 107 and 105 mph. He’s a full-timer right now, so he looks like a decent play in mixed leagues.

Lodolo struck out five in his longest start in five outings since coming off the injured list. He’s still looking for his first win since returning. It’ll be a long shot to happen next time out, since he’s currently slated to be matched up against Tarik Skubal in a start against the Dodgers.

Pagán surrendered a homer to Pete Crow-Armstrong in a three-run game on Sunday. Tonight, it was Fernando Tatis Jr. going deep in a two-run game. It’s the seventh homer Pagán has allowed in 34 1/3 innings this season, but he’s 20-for-23 saving games. He’s 13-for-13 since coming off the injured list a couple of months ago.

Vásquez was aiming for a fifth straight win, but he couldn’t get through the fifth with a 2-1 lead, departing after a walk and two hits scored the tying run. Vásquez’s next turn is slated for Monday against the Nationals, but with Joe Musgrove close to returning, it’s possible he could be stashed in middle relief either before or after that outing.

Both were solo shots. The second came off Emilio Pagán in the ninth, but the Padres were down by two at the time and still lost by one. It’s Tatis’s 16th career two-homer game. Three of those have come in the last 15 days, though Tatis had been in a little bit of a slump since the last one; he was 4-for-31 with no RBI and no walks in his previous seven games.

Arrighetti gave up two hits, walked one and struck out two. He fell to 7-8 with the loss. Arrighetti followed two openers, entering the game in the third inning. He has a 6.55 ERA in 11 innings over three appearances since joining the Blue Jays. The fact that Toronto is using Arrighetti as a bulk pitcher rather than a starter isn’t terrible for his fantasy value, but he simply hasn’t pitched well lately. He’s lined up to face the Royals on the road on Sunday.

Williams gave up two hits, walked one and struck out 13. He improved to 13-7 with the win. Williams bounced back with a gaudy strikeout total after he allowed five runs and didn’t even make it out of the second inning in his last start. He tied Dylan Cease with 217 for the second-most strikeouts this year. Williams has a 3.81 ERA. He’s lined up to face the Tigers at home on Sunday.
