Reiver Sanmartin (hip) left Colombia’s exhibition against the Pirates and is expected to miss the World Baseball Classic.
Sanmartin was covering first base on a grounder when the injury occurred. He’s expected to see an orthopedist on Wednesday. Sanmartin was competing for a spot in the Giants bullpen, but it now seems likely he’ll be behind enough to be questionable for Opening Day.
  • TEX Left Fielder #36

Wyatt Langford will undergo an MRI after being removed from Friday’s game against the Dodgers with right quad tightness.
Langford will undergo imaging to determine the severity of the injury, and whether he’ll require a trip to the injured list, after making an early exit from Friday’s slugfest against the Dodgers. The 24-year-old fantasy standout took hard-throwing Tyler Glasnow deep in the fifth inning for his first round-tripper of the season prior to departing. He expressed optimism while speaking to reporters following the contest, saying that he believes the issue to be minor. There should be a definitive update on his status at some point this weekend.
'No one can touch' Miller right now
James Schiano outlines just how impressive Mason Miller has been for the Padres.
  • MIA Left Fielder #28
Kyle Stowers (hamstring) went 0-for-3 on Friday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Jacksonville.
Stowers started in left field and struck out twice in three plate appearances as he works his way back from a hamstring injury that he suffered at the tail-end of spring training. Griffin Conine’s recent injury probably extinguishes the possibility that he’ll play first base at all in the near future since the Marlins could use him back in their outfield mix. The 28-year-old should be ready to make his season debut at some point next week once he gets fully back up to speed.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #93
Marlins LHP prospect Robby Snelling recorded 12 strikeouts over five scoreless innings on Friday for Triple-A Jacksonville.
Snelling scattered a pair of hits and four walks, needing 94 pitches (57 strikes) to post his first double-digit strikeout effort of the year. The 22-year-old southpaw has solved the serious command issues the plagued him earlier in his development and has emerged as one of the top pitching prospects in the fantasy landscape. He holds a strong 2.77 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 22/8 K/BB ratio across 13 innings over three starts this season on the doorstep of the majors. There aren’t a ton of obstacles to a spot in Miami’s rotation and Snelling figures to get his opportunity at some point around midseason, if not sooner.
  • MIL Shortstop #91
Brewers SS prospect Jesús Made went 2-for-5 on Friday for Double-A Biloxi.
At just 18 years old, Made is the youngest position player at the Double-A level by a country mile. He’s doing much more than just holding his own against older competition, batting .375 (12-for-32) with one homer and three steals in seven games. His all-around offensive ability and athleticism make it easy to forecast an elite power-speed combination fantasy contributor if he comes remotely close to reaching his ceiling. There simply aren’t any weaknesses in his profile, and he continues rocketing towards Milwaukee at a rapid pace.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher
Mariners LHP prospect Kade Anderson recorded 11 strikeouts over five hitless innings on Friday for Double-A Arkansas.
Anderson has looked like the top pitching prospect in the entire minors this season, reeling off nine consecutive scoreless inning with 17 strikeouts and three walks over a pair of starts at the Double-A level. His ability to generate whiffs and fill up the zone with his entire four-pitch arsenal was on display in this one as he generated 14 swinging strikes and threw 48 of 70 pitches for strikes. The 21-year-old southpaw, who was selected third overall in last year’s MLB Draft, appears likely to ascend rapidly towards Seattle with a chance to arrive in the majors later this year. He’ll be the top-ranked pitching prospect on all dynasty rankings lists by midseason.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher
Pirates RHP prospect Seth Hernandez recorded seven strikeouts over four hitless innings on Friday for Low-A Bradenton.
Hernandez put together another scintillating performance in the wake of last week’s sublime professional debut, generating 14 swinging strikes, maxed out at 100.5 mph and dominated with a virtually unhittable sinker. The 19-year-old prodigy has compiled a microscopic 1.29 ERA and 15/1 K/BB ratio across seven innings to open the season. It’s become abundantly clear that Hernandez is already one of the top pitching prospects in baseball and has the potential to be a front-of-the-rotation starter in the future. He’s going to skyrocket up dynasty rankings lists in the next few weeks, if he hasn’t already.
  • DET Shortstop
Tigers SS prospect Bryce Rainer launched his first home run of the season on Friday for Low-A Lakeland.
Rainer’s first round-tripper of the season left his bat at 116.2 mph and traveled a staggering 477 feet. It’s one of the hardest-hit baseballs of the Statcast era for the Tigers, regardless of level. The 20-year-old shortstop was in the midst of a stellar professional debut last year, showcasing consistent upper-echelon exit velocities, before undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery in early June. He’s gotten off to a bit of a slow start as he works his way back, but his ability to generate consistent hard contact is going to make him one of the top fantasy prospects in the game very soon.
  • MIL 2nd Baseman #2
Brice Turang went 1-for-3 with a walk and his fifth stolen base of the season on Friday against the Nationals in his return to the lineup.
Turang looked fresh after getting a pair of contests off earlier this week to address some lingering ankle tendinitis. The 26-year-old speedster has evolved into an all-around threat in recent years and remains one of the top fantasy options at the keystone. He’s been the second-most valuable fantasy second baseman this season, hitting .275 (11-for-40) with 11 runs scored, one homer, seven RBI and five steals across 11 games.
  • CHC Left Fielder #8
Ian Happ went 2-for-3 with a walk on Friday against the Pirates in his return to the lineup.
Happ returned to the heart of Chicago’s batting order after a brief two-game absence due to a left heel contusion. The 31-year-old left fielder has delivered top-30 fantasy value in the early portion of the season, hitting .233 (10-for-43) with four homers and seven RBI through 11 contests.
  • PHI Catcher #10
J.T. Realmuto went 1-for-4 on Friday against the Diamondbacks in his return to the lineup.
There was some real concern after Realmuto fouled a ball off his foot earlier this week, but he managed to avoid serious injury. The 35-year-old veteran backstop is hitting .241 (7-for-29) with one homer and one RBI in 10 games this season.
