After striking out his first four times up, Fernando Tatis Jr. doubled and scored the go-ahead run in the ninth as the Padres edged the Red Sox 3-2 on Saturday.
Tatis wore a golden sombrero for the fifth time in his career, but he did come through in the end, connecting off Aroldis Chapman on a long shot to center and then scoring on Ramón Laureano’s single. So, Chapman finished the game with the same .200 average he entered with. He’s 6-for-30 with no homers and two RBI after eight games.

Orioles recalled LHP Cade Povich from Triple-A Norfolk.
The expectation when Zach Eflin hit the injured list was that Dean Kremer would get the first shot at replacing him in the O’s starting rotation. It looks like it’ll be Povich instead though who draws that assignment. The 25-year-old southpaw struggled in his first start at the Triple-A level this season, giving up five runs over five innings, though he did record eight strikeouts. He draws a strong matchup against the White Sox in Chicago on Monday and could be worth a look as a streaming option for fantasy purposes.
Wetherholt cementing himself as a stellar rookie
J.J Wetherholt is quickly becoming a high-level infielder for the St. Louis Cardinals and James Schiano explains what makes him an impact player as a rookie.

Orioles place RHP Yaramil Hiraldo on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to April 2, with right shoulder inflammation.
The 30-year-old hurler has been brutal in his first three appearances with the O’s, so perhaps the shoulder issue was partially to blame for his 21.60 ERA and 4.20 WHIP over his first 1 2/3 innings. No word yet on how long he will be sidelined for. Cade Povich was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk to take his place on the active roster.
  • CWS 2nd Baseman #41
White Sox recalled INF Tanner Murray from Triple-A Charlotte.
Murray got off to a strong start at Triple-A Charlotte, slashing .304/.467/.609 with a pair of homers, seven RBI, two stolen bases and a 7/6 K/BB ratio in his first 30 plate appearances. It’ll be interesting to see if he can carve out any sort of real role in his first taste of MLB action.
  • CWS Center Fielder #28
White Sox placed OF Everson Pereira on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to April 2, with a left ankle sprain.
The 24-year-old outfielder suffered the injury during Wednesday’s game against the Marlins. They White Sox tried to take it day-to-day but ultimately felt it was best to sit him down and let it heal rather than playing shorthanded any longer. Tanner Murray was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte to take his place on the active roster.
  • PIT Center Fielder #25
Pirates recalled OF Billy Cook from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Cook was just optioned out to Triple-A on Thursday, but he’ll return with Jared Triolo (knee) landing on the 10-day injured list. While he’s a nice depth piece for the Pirates, he isn’t likely to see enough playing time to gain any sort of relevancy from a fantasy perspective.
  • PIT Shortstop #19
Pirates placed INF Jared Triolo on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to April 4, with a right knee patellar tendon injury.
Triolo sustained the injury during Saturday’s game. While the severity of the injury is not yet known, it sure sounds like Triolo will be shelved for a while. Billy Cook was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis to take his place on the Pirates’ active roster.
  • LAD 2nd Baseman #6
Dodgers recalled INF/OF Hyeseong Kim from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
With Mookie Betts (oblique) landing on the injured list on Sunday, Kim will get an opportunity with the Dodgers. It’s unclear how the playing time will shake out at shortstop between he and Miguel Rojas, but his speed makes him an intriguing option for fantasy purposes if he winds up seeing the bulk of the action.
  • LAD Shortstop #50
Dodgers placed INF Mookie Betts on the 10-day injured list with a right oblique strain.
Dodgers’ skipper Dave Roberts was hesitant to put a timeline on Betts’ potential return to action, but said he was hopeful that it would be less than the 4-to-6 weeks that is typically seen with an oblique injury. Hyeseong Kim was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to take his place on the active roster.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #57
Rangers recalled RHP Luis Curvelo from Triple-A Round Rock.
The 25-year-old hurler will replace the injured Carter Baumler (oblique) in the Rangers’ bullpen. Curvelo made eight appearances for the Rangers during Cactus League play, posting a 4.15 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and a strong 12/1 K/BB ratio across 8 2/3 innings. He’ll function in a middle relief role initially, but could move to a high-leverage spot if he proves to be capable.
  • TEX Relief Pitcher #45
Rangers placed RHP Carter Baumler on the 15-day injured list with a right intercostal strain.
Baumler suffered the injury during Saturday’s outing against the Reds. Through his first four appearances with the Rangers, the 24-year-old hurler had registered a 3.18 ERA, 1.77 WHIP and a 6/6 K/BB ratio over 5 2/3 innings. No word yet on how much time he may miss. Luis Curvelo was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move on Sunday.
