It wasn’t a pretty first save for Keller, who needed 26 pitches to get through the frame and started things off with a leadoff walk to Javier Sanoja. Sanoja would eventually come around to score on an RBI single by Otto Lopez, but got Xavier Edwards to fly out to center to end the inning on a full count fastball. Given the dicey outing, we’ll see if interim manager Don Mattingly calls on Keller again the next time a save situation arises, or if he opts to go with someone else while Jhoan Duran is on the 15-day IL.

The 24-year-old left-hander will make his Major League debut on Sunday against the Reds. Matuz has been terrific at Triple-A Memphis this season, registering a 2.90 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and a 43/24 K/BB ratio over 40 1/3 innings through his first nine starts. He has had trouble with his command at times this season, an issue which could get him in trouble against the Reds on Sunday, making him a volatile streaming option for fantasy purposes.

Mayer is expected to get an extended run at the position while Trevor Story (hernia) is sidelined. That makes a lot more sense than continuing to roll with some combination of Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Andruw Monasterio. The 23-year-old has really struggled offensively this season, slashing a meager .213/.278/.301 with two homers, 10 RBI and three stolen bases in 152 plate appearances.

Coulombe had been shelved since May 2 due to back spasms. He has made 12 appearances with the Red Sox this season, posting a disappointing 5.63 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and a 5/3 K/BB ratio over eight innings of work. He’ll return to a middle relief role for manager Chad Tracy.

The 27-year-old southpaw has been outstanding during his time with the Red Sox this season, so it’s a bit surprising to see him continue to wind up on the outside looking in, though having minor league options remaining works against him in this case. He holds a brilliant 1.04 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and a 13/7 K/BB ratio across 17 1/3 innings in 18 appearances with the Red Sox. The move makes way for the return of Danny Coulombe from the injured list on Sunday.

Torkelson will undoubtedly be in there for the nightcap against left-hander Trevor Rogers and will likely make an appearance off of the bench in the first game. Dillon Dingler will function as the team’s designated hitter while Colt Keith covers first base and bats sixth against Brandon Young and the O’s.

Fans tuning in to MLB Sunday Leadoff on Peacock will miss out on seeing one of the most exciting rookies in the game as the 20-year-old shortstop is getting a breather in this one. Jared Triolo will start in his place at shortstop and will bat ninth for the Bucs against Blue Jays’ right-hander Dylan Cease on Sunday afternoon in Toronto.

The 29-year-old left-hander had been sidelined since May 9 due to a lower back strain. He’ll serve as the 27th man for Sunday’s doubleheader against the Tigers before potentially heading back to Triple-A Norfolk. Wolfram holds a 4.85 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and a stellar 20/1 K/BB ratio over 13 innings with the O’s this season.

Jones allowed just two hits in the contest, though he also issued three free passes. The important note is that he got stretched out to 76 pitches in this one after throwing only 52 his last time out. He’s eligible to return from the injured list this week, so it’s possible the Pirates decide to bring him back or his next start rather than having him make one final minor league rehab start. Fantasy managers who have been anxiously awaiting Jones’ return may finally start to see returns this week.

The 28-year-old southpaw struck out three batters on the night while allowing one base on balls. Ragans threw 68 pitches in the contest (44 strikes) while racking up 10 swings and misses. His fastball touched as high as 97.6 mph. The Royals may want him to make one additional start to get fully stretched out, but his return appears to be near.

Speier didn’t show any signs of rust in this one, needing just nine pitches (eight strikes) to retire the side in order — including a pair of strikeouts. He’ll probably need just one more tune-up there before he’s ready to rejoin the Mariners’ bullpen.
