Just a couple weeks ago, it looked like Ja Morant was ready to go on a heater. First, he unloaded a triple-double (the first of his career) — a 27-point, 10-rebound, 10-assist performance against the Wizards. Then, he followed that up with a 20-5-9 stat line against the Blazers.
However, in the three games that have followed, the rookie’s stat line has gone hollow: 17.3 ppg, 0.7 rpg, 2.0 apg, 0.0 spg and 0.0 3s with 4.0 turnovers per game. He’s still shooting well from the field (48.7 percent during that same stretch), which makes this even more perplexing.
