ESPN’s Jeff Darlington reports the Jaguars fired former coach Urban Meyer with the intention of not paying him the remaining four years of his contract.
Meyer was fired for “cause,” with the team withholding the remaining guarantees in his contract. This doesn’t look related to kicker Josh Lambo’s accusation that Meyer kicked him during an August practice, with Jaguars officials instead citing “a cumulation of instances.” Meyer had no shortage of controversy in his 11-month tenure in Jacksonville, from viral videos to berating his team and coaching staff, though these types of situations typically end in settlements. Meyer’s five-year deal was estimated between $10-12 million annually. Any savings would be a win for Jacksonville.

  • MIN Tight End #87

Vikings TE T.J. Hockenson (shin) did not practice Wednesday.
Hockenson pops up on the injury report with a new shin issue. He did not practice Wednesday, putting his status for Week 15 in doubt. The veteran has not had much fantasy utility this season, and even saw fellow tight end Josh Oliver score twice in Week 14, despite scoring once himself. Fantasy manager should stay tuned throughout the rest of the week for Hockenson’s status; he is a TE2 if he can play against the Cowboys, otherwise Oliver will get a boost for Week 15.
Metcalf expected to play Monday vs. Dolphins
Kyle Dvorchak talks about how DK Metcalf, who has been dealing with a stomach issue, projects in fantasy for Week 15, sharing why he should have a big role for the Steelers against the Dolphins on Monday Night Football.
  • GB Wide Receiver #11
Packers WR Jayden Reed (shoulder) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.
Reed returned from foot and shoulder injuries to play in Week 14, getting four targets on the day. He saw a sizeable role, running over 60 percent of available routes and the Packers will limit is practice workload to start the week. Also limited were fellow wide receivers Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) and Savion Williams (foot). Wicks played through the ankle injury in Week 14 while Williams did not practice all of last week. Reed is still trending to play and is the best receiver out of the three, while Wicks is worth a speculative deep league dart throw and Williams is not fantasy relevant.
  • GB Wide Receiver #0
Packers WR Matthew Golden (wrist) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.
Golden has been dealing with the wrist injury since Week 11, returning in Week 14 to the tune of four routes. The rookie is still limited due to the injury and is now lost in the shuffle of a deep wide receiver room that saw Bo Melton score a touchdown last week and Jayden Reed return. Golden is still trending to play Week 15 against the Broncos, but is not on the fantasy radar.
  • CLE Running Back #22
Dylan Sampson (calf/hand) did not practice Wednesday.
Sampson played through the calf issue on Sunday and didn’t appear to be bothered by it. He only ran the ball twice but added 64 yards through the air on five catches. The rookie did, however, lose a fumble in the fourth quarter. The hand issue is a new addition to the injury report. If he plays through it, Sampson will be a low-end RB4 for PPR leagues versus the Chicago in Week 15.
  • CLE Wide Receiver #19
Cedric Tillman (concussion/rib) did not practice Wednesday.
Tillman caught one pass for 23 yards versus Tennessee on Sunday. His role was already on the decline before suffering the concussion and rib injuries. He is now a safe bet to miss Week 15 entirely. Isaiah Bond will see an uptick in routes in his absence, though there isn’t much fantasy value to be had in Cleveland outside of Jerry Jeudy and Harold Fannin.
  • CLE Tight End #85
David Njoku (knee) did not practice Wednesday.
Njoku went down with the knee issue early in the Browns’ Week 14 loss to the Titans and did not return. His lone catch of the day resulted in a touchdown. Njoku was already being phased out of the offense before suffering the injury. Harold Fannin is now locked in for a high-volume role, putting him firmly within the TE1 ranks for Week 15.
  • CHI Wide Receiver #14
Olamide Zaccheaus (hamstring) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.
Zaccheaus only saw three targets with Rome Odunze sidelined last week. He did, however, come up with an impressive touchdown catch to open the second half. With Odunze returning to practice this week, Zaccheaus should be off the fantasy radar for Week 15.
  • CHI Wide Receiver #15
Rome Odunze (foot) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.
Odunze missed Week 14’s game after failing to practice once throughout the week. A limited session today puts him on track to return to the lineup, but the Bears’ staff will undoubtedly want to see how he responds in practice over the next two days before giving him the green light. If active, a banged-up Odunze will be relegated to the fantasy WR3 ranks on a run-heavy Chicago offense. Luther Burden will continue to operate as the team’s top wideout if Odunze is held out versus the Browns.
  • DEN Wide Receiver #13
Broncos WR Pat Bryant (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday.
Bryant had been quietly earning more work in the Denver offense in recent weeks. He has 17 targets over his past three games and has flipped Troy Franklin in the pecking order for routes. Bryant was added to the injury report on Thursday last week but participated in at least a limited capacity throughout the week. A DNP today could be a sign that his hamstring issue worsened during Sunday’s game. Franklin would reclaim his starting role if Bryant can’t suit up in Week 15.
  • LA Wide Receiver #5
Rams coach Sean McVay said Tutu Atwell (hamstring) will be activated from injured reserve this week.
Atwell has been back at practice for a few weeks and is finally ready to return to action. He will play a part-time role on offense unless something happens to Puka Nacua or Davante Adams.
