Patriots signed DT Eric Gregory, formerly of the Bengals, to a contract.

The undrafted free agent rookie totaled four quarterback pressures and two tackles in the preseason. The Patriots also signed OT Thayer Munford Jr. to the practice squad and released OL Jack Conley.

David Montgomery (groin) will not return to Houston’s Week 5 game against the Titans.

He finishes with five carries for 11 yards. Initially questionable to return in the second quarter, Montgomery was ruled out after halftime. This could open some major space for Woody Marks to have a strong role going forward. We’ll keep an eye out for updates after the game, but it doesn’t look good for Montgomery.

Makai Lemon caught 5-of-7 targets for 43 yards in the Eagles’ Week 5 loss to the Jaguars.

The good news is that Lemon set new season highs in targets, catches, and yards. The bad news: All of that resulted in a measly 9.3 PPR points. Lemon will hopefully continue to earn more opportunities as the season progresses, but DeVonta Smith’s return could just as easily stall the rookie’s progress. Lemon will be a WR4/5 if Smith remains out for Week 6 against the Panthers.

Brian Thomas Jr. failed to catch any of his three targets in the Jaguars’ Week 5 win over the Eagles.

This game started with Jaguars defensive end Bryan Thomas Jr. getting ejected on the opening kickoff. He would go on to catch as many passes as his wide receiver doppelganger. BTJ nearly saved face with a late touchdown, but he failed to drag his back foot and stepped out of bounds for an incompletion. Josh Cameron, the team’s WR4, saw six targets. Thomas Jr. simply doesn’t have much of a role in this offense anymore. He will be the subject of trade speculation in the coming weeks. That seems to be his only path to meaningful fantasy production.

Dontayvion Wicks caught 5-of-8 targets for 63 yards in the Eagles’ Week 5 loss to the

DeVonta Smith was out again this week, leaving the Eagles to spread his targets around to several role players. Wicks led the team’s wideouts in targets, but it was Dallas Goedert who paced the team. On the back of one long touchdown catch, Darius Cooper led the team in receiving yards. Wicks is good for the occasional big play but isn’t a consistent enough player to be a solid fantasy option. He will be a deep FLEX option for Week 6 versus the Panthers.

Patriots OT Will Campbell (knee) exited in Week 5 against the Raiders.

Campbell had his leg rolled on in the second quarter and was down in obvious pain for a while before being helped off the field. Campbell was taken to the locker room for further evaluation and seems unlikely to return today. An extended absence for Campbell would be a tough blow for Drake Maye and the New England passing attack.

Dameon Pierce rushed 11 times for 14 yards in the Eagles’ Week 5 loss to the Jaguars.

Pierce “added” two catches for -2 yards. He took over as the Eagles’ lead back after Will Shipley went down with a foot injury in the first half. Carson Steele did not see the field for a single offensive snap. Pierce would presumably in line for a workhorse role in Week 6 if Shipley and Saquon Barkley are both out, but his efficiency today speaks for itself. This isn’t an offense capable of opening running lanes, nor is Pierce a back who can make a lot out of a little. Pierce is a low-priority waiver wire add for Week 6.

David Montgomery (groin) is questionable to return to Houston’s Week 5 game against the Titans.

He had five carries for 11 yards before leaving in the middle of the second quarter. Woody Marks will handle lead back duties for the moment.

Darius Cooper caught 2-of-3 passes for 71 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles’ Week 5 loss to the Jaguars.

Cooper has been a touchdown magnet this year, scoring three times on five catches before today’s explosion. He broke loose against the Jags in the second quarter with a 62-yard grab. Cooper beat his man deep and his adjustment to the throw, which was thrown back toward the center of the field, put him in open space with a full head of steam. He ran untouched into the end zone. Cooper’s absurd touchdown efficiency can’t be sustained, but he is developing into a meaningful deep threat for a struggling Philly passing attack. He will at least warrant some FLEX consideration if DeVonta Smith remains out for Week 6 against the Panthers.

TreVeyon Henderson exited the Patriots’ Week 5 game with an apparent lower leg injury.

Henderson ripped off a nice 11-yard rush and was tackled low out of bounds. He was slow to get up before being helped to the New England locker room for further evaluation. The oft-injured Henderson was seeing better-than-usual usage before his injury. Rhamondre Stevenson will function as the team’s workhorse back if Henderson once again misses time.

Trevor Lawrence completed 24-of-39 passes for 331 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Jaguars’ 19-17, Week 5 win over the Eagles.

Lawrence gave fantasy managers what they needed with a solid box score, but he was not the reason the Jags won this game. Lawrence struggled under pressure, throwing one ugly interception while putting the ball on the ground twice via sack-fumbles. Both were recovered by the Jags. The offense was also a catastrophe in the red zone, though a series of penalties and bizarre play calls are largely to blame there. Down by one with eight seconds left, it looked like the team’s struggles on offense would be too much to overcome. Instead, Ameer Abdullah returned a kickoff 53 yards to set up a walkoff field goal from Cam Little. If the Jags can clean things up after an uncharacteristically sloppy game, Lawrence will remain a mid-range QB1 for Week 6 versus the Texans.
