49ers general manager John Lynch said, “somebody would have to come with something fairly strong for us to consider” trading QB Mac Jones.

Jones started a few games for the 49ers in 2025, putting himself on the radar for quarterback-needy teams. However, Lynch said Jones has been “really good for us and we value that...I think we’re a better team with him on it.” The 49ers value Jones as a capable backup quarterback behind Brock Purdy, who has missed time due to injury over the last couple seasons. If a team values Jones as a starter and crafts a strong offer, Lynch and the 49ers would at least consider trading the 27-year-old.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said he “wouldn’t be surprised” if the Chiefs trade for a wide receiver.

Rapoport then named Josh Downs and Brian Thomas Jr. as players to keep an eye on. Both wideouts are in the midst of down years and their teams have already leaked that they are on the trade block. Thomas Jr. would hopefully unlock the once-vaunted Patrick Mahomes deep ball. Downs, on the other hand, would be another underneath weapon for a passing attack that his simply asking too much of Rashee Rice right now. Both players’ fantasy stock would skyrocket via a trade.

Anthony Gould (concussion) won’t play in Indianapolis’ Week 8 game against the Jaguars.

The biggest news for fantasy purposes with the Colts inactives is simply that Jonathan Taylor and Josh Downs are up, but that isn’t exactly surprising. Gould practiced in full the last two days of the week before being ruled out and stands a chance at being ready for Week 8. Inactive for the Colts are: LB Bryce Boettcher (groin), TE Pharaoh Brown, DT Kevin Givens, T Charlie Heck, QB Riley Leonard (third quarterback) and CB Justin Walley (knee).

Despite some highly volatile performances this season, Kincaid will be in the TE1 mix this week.
