NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBC Sports EDGE’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

Monday has four games on the schedule.

Forwards:

Brad Marchand (Boston) - W - $9,100 (FanDuel), $7,500 (DraftKings), $31 (Yahoo)

Marchand has been on a roll with eight goals and 14 points in his past nine games. He has been held off the scoresheet once during that span, while supplying four goals and five assists during a four-game point streak. That includes one goal and two helpers against Columbus on Saturday. The Bruins visit the Blue Jackets on Monday.

Elias Lindholm (Calgary) - C - $7,800 (FanDuel), $6,600 (DraftKings), $6,600 (Yahoo)

Lindholm has enjoyed a great season so much that having one assist in the past three games qualifies as a bit of a slump. Still, he stands a good chance of getting back on track in an important game against Los Angeles. Lindholm checks in with good cap hits across the board for Monday’s match and he can be stacked with Johnny Gaudreau.

Brayden Point (Tampa Bay) - C - $8,000 (FanDuel), $6,400 (DraftKings), $27 (Yahoo)

Point is one of several members of the Lightning, and the Maple Leafs for that matter, who are riding hot streaks going into Monday’s matchup. He offers some additional bang for the buck upside, though, and can fit well into plenty of lineups. Point has four goals and five assists across a six-game point streak. He has 21 shots on target during that span as well as six power-play points (three goals, three assists).

Robert Thomas (St. Louis) - C - $5,200 (FanDuel), $4,300 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo)

Thomas has plenty of bang for the buck upside on Monday night. He has racked up three goals and six assists over a five-game point spree. Thomas also has two helpers and three shots in two previous matches against Arizona this campaign.

Bargain Bin: Michael Bunting (TOR) - $5,200 (FanDuel), $4,400 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo), Phillip Danault (LA) - $5,200 (FanDuel), $4,800 (DraftKings), $17 (Yahoo), Erik Haula (BOS) - $4,200 (FanDuel), $3,800 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo), Ilya Mikheyev (TOR) - $5,000 (FanDuel), $4,300 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo)

Defensemen:

Morgan Rielly (Toronto) - $6,300 (FanDuel), $5,500 (DraftKings), $22 (Yahoo)

Rielly has been outstanding this season and he has been hot offensively going into Monday’s action. He has three goals and six assists over a four-game point streak. Rielly has three helpers on the man advantage during that stretch along with 12 shots on target.

Bargain Bin: Noah Hanifin (CGY) - $5,200 (FanDuel), $4,100 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo), Sean Durzi (LA) - $5,100 (FanDuel), $4,900 (DraftKings), $16 (Yahoo)

Goaltenders:

Jacob Markstrom (Calgary) - $7,400 (FanDuel), $7,900 (DraftKings), $40 (Yahoo)

Markstrom has gone winless in his past three outings (0-2-1), but he was superb in two of those starts. It wouldn’t be surprising if Monday’s match against Los Angeles figures was another tight-checking, low-scoring affair. Markstrom has posted a 1-0-1 record versus the Kings this year with a 1.92 goals-against average and .946 save percentage.

Bargain Bin: Elvis Merzlikins (CBJ) - $7,100 (FanDuel), $7,200 (DraftKings), $20 (Yahoo)
