    Jets waived LB Freddie Bishop.
A CFL star who recorded 11 sacks in 2015, Bishop visited seven teams before signing with the Jets in February. He could get a look on waivers.
  • Freddie Bishop (ankle) is questionable to return to Week 2 against the Raiders.
He is a practice squad call-up, but the Jets were using him on first down today. Bishop isn’t an every-down player, though.
  • Jets signed LB Freddie Bishop to a two-year contract.
He visited seven teams before signing. Bishop was a CFL stud, winning a Grey Cup with Calgary in 2014 and recording 11 sacks in 2015. Bishop had a cup of coffee with the Lions in 2013 as an undrafted free agent out of Western Michigan, only to be cut after OTAs. Bishop managed a 4.88 forty at his 2013 Pro Day, and his 9-foot-9 broad jump hints at a lack of short-area explosion.
