    Seahawks waived/injured G/T Garrett Scott.
He’s the first 2014 draft pick to get “cut,” although Scott was waived due to a “rare heart condition” the Seahawks ostensibly didn’t know enough about before the draft. He wasn’t cut for on-field purposes. Scott just signed his rookie contract Thursday, and will likely get at least a portion of his signing bonus. Unfortunately, the 22-year-old’s NFL career is now in serious doubt.
  • FA Tackle #75
Seahawks signed sixth-round G/T Garrett Scott to a four-year contract.
Scott is a versatile lineman that should provide depth behind injury-prone Russell Okung at left tackle early in his career, and could eventually transition into a bigger role at either guard or tackle. Scott missed rookie minicamp because he had yet to pass a physical, but he should be good to go for OTAs.
  • FA Tackle #75
Seahawks selected Marshall G/T Garrett Scott with the No. 199 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft.
Scott (6-foot-5, 310) was a three-year starter at tackle for the Thundering Herd, hauling in second-team All-Conference honors from coaches in each of the last two seasons. He has the versatility to play inside at guard and excels in straight-line blocking. The Seahawks need an eventual replacement for LG James Carpenter, who is entering the final year of his rookie deal.
