IRVING, Texas – It rained cows and pigs here earlier this week. The local news claimed 1.17 inches of precipitation fell on Dallas in a one-hour span Tuesday afternoon, but my flight landed at about the same time and I didn’t see a drop.

They tell some tall tales in Texas. The PGA Tour says TPC Four Seasons received exactly 1 inch just prior to the tournament, but forget all that. It’s beautiful here now. I’ve been to the Metroplex a million times and I’ve never – I mean never – known it to be 72 degrees with cool sunshine.

“We’ve lived here 17 years, and this might be the best week of weather we’ve ever had,” a lady told me on the eighth green. Her husband snickered and said something about San Diego in Texas.

They demolish Texas Stadium, and then the humidity takes a vacation in May. What’s next, an Anthony Kim sighting?
