Krol exercised an opt-out clause in his minor league contract and it sounds like he might be headed overseas. The lefty reliever has a career 4.49 ERA over parts of seven major league seasons.

Krol held a 4.34 ERA over 18 2/3 innings for the Tigers last season. The veteran left-hander hasn’t seen any extended action in the majors since 2017.

The Tigers removed him from their 40-man roster and he’s opted to test out the free agent waters. Krol is a journeyman lefty with a career 4.49 ERA.

Krol has been summoned to replace lefty Matthew Boyd on the Tigers’ active roster. The 30-year-old southpaw holds an underwhelming 5.11 ERA, 1.86 WHIP and 10/5 K/BB ratio across 12 1/3 innings at the big-league level this season.

Krol cleared waivers after being designated for assignment and will remain with the organization. He’s posted a 5.11 ERA over 12 1/3 innings with the Tigers this year.

The team needed to free up a spot on the roster for Jose Urena’s return on Saturday and Krol was the odd-man out. The 30-year-old southpaw owns a 5.11 ERA, 1.87 WHIP and 10/5 K/BB ratio over 12 1/3 innings on the season. There’s a decent chance he’ll pass through waivers unclaimed and continue to provide minor league bullpen depth for the Tigers.

It’s been an eventful week for the 30-year-old southpaw who was designated for assignment on Tuesday, sent outright to Toledo on Thursday and now rejoins the Tigers after they dealt Daniel Norris to the Brewers on Friday afternoon. Krol owns a 3.86 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 4/2 K/BB ratio over 4 2/3 innings with the big league club this season.

Krol was designated for assignment by Detroit earlier this week and passed through waivers unclaimed. The 30-year-old southpaw holds a career 4.48 ERA in 194 2/3 total major league innings.

The move clears the way for Michael Fulmer’s return from the injured list. Krol was added to the Tigers’ roster this month and allowed two runs in 4 2/3 innings of work.

Krol didn’t make the Tigers out of spring training after signing a minor league deal back in December, but he stuck around and posted a 2.42 ERA over 17 appearances with the Mud Hens before the promotion. He’ll be a middle-inning option for Detroit while with the club.
