Former Nebraska redshirt sophomore DB Isaiah Stalbird transferred to South Dakota State.
Stalbird is a former walk-on who was able to work his way into the Cornhuskers’ depth chart before entering the transfer portal back in December. The 6-foot, 210-pound defender had 13 tackles in 2019, and 10 of those were on special teams. He should be able to compete for a starting job with the Jackrabbits, and he’s eligible to play immediately since he moves to the FCS level.

Nebraska redshirt freshman S Isaiah Stalbird announced on Monday that he will be leaving the program.
Stalbird didn’t outright say he was transferring, but it was implied when he announced he would be leaving the program. Stalbird was never much more than a special teams player for Nebraska. Per 247 Sports, Stalbird was unranked and did not have any offers coming out of school before he walked on at Nebraska in 2018.
