The Knicks have waived Jacob Evans.
Evans was acquired by the Knicks back in November but New York’s backcourt is crowded enough already. Evans will most likely head to the G League or overseas.

  • NBA Shooting Guard #10
Jacob Evans has been traded to the Knicks as part of a deal sending Ed Davis to the Wolves.
This is not a hospitable locale for Evans, as he joins an overflowing group of guards in New York. If the Knicks don’t trade him or waive him there’s a good chance he’ll spend time in the G League.

  • NBA Power Forward #2
Omari Spellman, Jarred Vanderbilt and Jacob Evans will be unavailable for Sunday’s game, as they’re all currently assigned to Minnesota’s G League affiliate.
You’d think the Timberwolves would recall Spellman while Karl-Anthony Towns is out to see what they have, but so far, that has not been the case. None of these guys are worth owning in the vast majority of leagues.

Jacob Evans, Jarred Vanderbilt and Omari Spellman have been assigned to the Timberwolves’ G-League affiliate in Iowa.
All three were acquired at the trade deadline, and with none factoring into the Timberwolves rotation it makes sense for them to get some game reps in the G-League. These moves don’t have much of an impact fantasy-wise, as Evans, Vanderbilt and Spellman should have already been on the waiver wire.

Jacob Evans played one minute in Saturday’s win over the Clippers.
Evans, making his Timberwolves debut Saturday night, was on the court for the final minute of the team’s 142-115 win over the Clippers. He doesn’t offer much of anything fantasy-wise, so leave him on the waiver wire.
  • NBA Shooting Guard #10
Jacob Evans will be available on Saturday against the Clippers.
He’s likely going to be the third-string shooting guard behind Malik Beasley and Jarrett Culver, but he could be elevated to a rotation role with D’Angelo Russell (quad) out today. Evans would only be worth a stream in very deep leagues.
  • IND Power Forward #16
James Johnson, Jacob Evans and Omari Spellman are listed as questionable for Saturday’s game vs. the Clippers.
The Wolves traded for all three players prior to Thursday’s deadline. Even if they are available on Saturday night, it’s unlikely they will see much action for their new squad.

Jacob Evans has been traded to the Timberwolves as part of the D’Angelo Russell deal that took place on Thursday afternoon.
Evans will be joining a team that will feature Russell, Malik Beasley, Josh Okogie, Juancho Hernangomez and Karl-Anthony Towns, among others. If Russell plays point guard and Beasley starts at shooting guard, Evans may have a tough time making much of a dent in Minnesota, especially with Okogie and Jarrett Culver also around. Just leave him on waivers for now.

Jacob Evans scored eight points with four rebounds, four assists and no turnovers in 24 minutes off the bench against the Nets on Wednesday.
He saw 26 minutes in a spot start on Monday, and his playing time figures to be there at least until after the trade deadline. Evans is hardly an offensive weapon right now with his 11.1 points per 36 on just 32.8 FG%, but at least he does block some shots and picks up some steals. Still, you’d have to be in a pretty deep league to take a chance on him.

Jacob Evans drew a spot start vs. the Wizards on Monday with seven points (1-of-8 FGs), three assists, two rebounds, one steal, three blocks and one triple in 26 minutes.
The defense was solid but Evans didn’t exactly make a strong case for a larger role with the offense looking out of sync when he was running it. D’Angelo Russell (quad) sat out tonight and it may have had something to do with the trade talks with Minnesota and New York, but deep-league fantasy owners can safely watch Evans from the wire for now.
