Panthers signed Miami WR Jacolby George.
George (5’11, 172) is an undersized receiver whose pro day results showed less-than-desirable speed (4.60 40-yard dash) for a player of his size. He held a starting role over each of the last two seasons, totaling 111 receptions for 1,630 yards and 16 touchdowns while averaging 14.7 YPR. He played primarily on the outside as a starter (88.8 percent snaps out wide, per PFF), but his size and lack of top-end speed are unlikely to play well on the outside at the next level. George drew several careless penalties throughout his career and was nearly dismissed from Miami after the 2023 season. He’ll likely get a chance to earn a role as a returner (20 career punt returns) wherever he lands, but there’s a lot that will need to break right for George if he hopes to earn a roster spot in the future.

Miami received a verbal commitment from four-star 2021 WR Jacolby George.
This was rumored for months, but now is official. Georgie picks the Hurricanes over the likes of Georgia Tech, West Virginia, Syracuse and Pittsburgh. The experts of 247Sports rank him the 34th among wideouts in the class in their composite rankings, and 26th among prospects that play in the Sunshine State (Plantation High School, Ft. Lauderdale). It’s already the 15th commit to Miami’s class so far for Manny Diaz, and the recruiting website ranks that group 11th nationally; third in the ACC.

Uncommitted four-star 2021 WR Jacolby George will announce his college choice on June 6.
George (5'11/161) is believed to be down to three schools: Miami, Penn State and Georgia Tech. The four-star wideout currently plays at Plantation High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and he’s considered a strong lean towards the Hurricanes. George is rated 34th among all wideouts in the class by 247Sports in their composite rankings, and 26th among all prospects in the Sunshine State.
