Georgia Southern sophomore RB Jalen White had 10 rushes for 82 yards and two touchdowns in Georgia Southern’s 38-30 win over Texas State.
White (6'0"/215) carried the load for the Eagles, bookending the Eagles’ touchdowns in their close win. White scored from 19 yards out on a pitch to give Georgia Southern the lead, and also scored the touchdown that put the game away with 5 minutes left in the fourth quarter. In fact, on that last drive, White ran for 52 of the 75 yards. White has been an afterthought for most of the year, but the two times he has gotten double digit carries he’s gotten 239 yards and four touchdowns. White should have earned more playing time from these performances, but the same could be said after his game against Arkansas State in Week 5 but that didn’t happen. We’ll see what happens next week against BYU.

Georgia Southern sophomore RB Jalen White had 14 carries for 157 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday’s 59-33 win over Arkansas State.
Georgia Southern was able to run all over Arkansas State with 503 rushing yards in this game. White (6'0"/215) was behind Logan Wright, who had a monster game of his own with 208 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Wright would sit most of the second half, allowing White to have a game of his own. His first touchdown came in the third quarter when an Arkansas State defender thought he tackled White, but he fell on top of the defender, the knee or elbow never hit the ground, he got up and ran off for 59 yards. He got another score later in the fourth quarter when he cut through a gap on the left and he was gone. Georgia Southern will go on the road to face Sun Belt division rival Troy next Saturday.
