  • MLB Outfielder #1
Blue Jays claimed OF Jarrod Dyson off waivers from the Royals.
Robert Murray of FanSided first reported the move and it’s now been made official. Dyson offers some depth with the Jays battling some injuries in their outfield.

  • CWS Left Fielder #23
Andrew Benintendi was removed from Tuesday’s game against the White Sox due to an apparent shoulder injury.
Benintendi stole second base in the top of the fourth inning but looked to badly injure his left shoulder as he hung onto the bag. Jarrod Dyson entered to run for him. There should be an update soon from the South Side of Chicago.

  • Center Fielder #18
Michael Taylor (wrist) is not in the Royals’ lineup Friday.
Taylor exited Wednesday’s game with left wrist soreness and the off day Thursday wasn’t enough to get him over the hump. Jarrod Dyson is in center field Friday.

  • MLB Outfielder #1
Jarrod Dyson went 2-for-4 with two RBI against the Twins on Sunday.
The Royals were held scoreless in the game until the ninth inning. After hitting a single in the second inning, Dyson plated the only two runs for the Royals with a base hit in the ninth with two runners on off of Hansel Robles. The 36-year-old outfielder has played sparingly this season, posting a .250/.296/.355 triple-slash with six stolen bases over 83 plate appearances.

  • MLB Outfielder #1
Jarrod Dyson went 1-for-3 with a triple and a run scored on Saturday night in a loss to the White Sox.
The speedy veteran scored the Royals’ lone run, as the lineup had a hard time making quality contact against Lance Lynn. Dyson also drew a walk. In the thirteen games he’s played for Kansas City in 2020, the 36-year-old veteran is slashing .316/.435/.579, contributing to an overall 1.014 OPS.

  • MLB Outfielder #1
Jarrod Dyson went 2-for-2 on Saturday vs. the Blue Jays with an RBI in game two of a doubleheader.
Dyson’s two-hit performance included a leadoff triple in the third inning; he was later brought home by Andrew Benintendi reaching on a fielder’s choice. Dyson later reached base again with a single in the fourth inning. Dyson also made an impressive, run-saving sliding catch in the second inning, stealing a hit from Joe Panik. The 36-year-old is slashing .375/.444/.625 in seven plate appearances over his last seven games.

Royals signed OF Jarrod Dyson to a one-year, $1.5 million contract.
The deal was agreed to earlier in the week but has now become official. Dyson slashed a woeful 180/.231/.180 in 32 games (66 plate appearances) last season between the Pirates and White Sox, but is a good defender and will provide speed off the bench for the Royals. He can continue to be ignored for fantasy purposes.

  • MLB Outfielder #1
FanSided’s Robert Murray reports that the Royals have signed free agent outfielder Jarrod Dyson.
Jon Heyman of MLB Network adds that it’s a one-year deal worth $1.5 million. Dyson struggled to an ugly .180/.231/.180 batting line in 32 games (66 plate appearances) last season between the Pirates and White Sox, but he remains an excellent base-stealing threat even at age 36. He was part of the World Series championship run in Kansas City back in 2015 and should be a relatively useful option off the bench in 2021.

  • CWS Center Fielder #88
Luis Robert is out of the White Sox starting lineup Thursday against the Indians.
Robert was an absolute force throughout July and August, but since the calendar flipped to September he has batted just .086/.189/.129 with one home run and 30 strikeouts in 20 games. The 23-year-old rookie could probably use a day of mental and physical rest. He should be back in there Friday against the Cubs. Jarrod Dyson is playing center field and batting ninth Thursday versus Cleveland.

  • CWS Center Fielder #88
Luis Robert is absent from the White Sox’ lineup Sunday.
Robert is just 5-for-37 with one homer over his last 10 games, so it makes sense to give him a breather. Jarrod Dyson is in center field. Nick Madrigal is also getting a day off, as Danny Mendick is at second base.
