Tashard Choice rushed five times for 20 yards and added a seven-yard reception in Sunday’s loss to the Titans.
Choice, who was coached by Chan Gailey at Georgia Tech, was the clear backup to C.J. Spiller. Johnny White didn’t even sniff the field. The problem is that Choice continues to show no ability to make anyone miss or move the pile. He’s a weak handcuff to Spiller.

Coach Chan Gailey confirmed that C.J. Spiller will be the Bills’ lead back going forward.
There has been speculation in fantasy circles that rookie Johnny White or newly signed Tashard Choice could push Spiller into a situation role, but Gailey has been fully behind the 2010 first-rounder. “You want to let C.J. go in and do what he does best and give him an opportunity to make plays,” said Gailey. “He gets his chance now. He’s probably looking forward to it and so are we.”

Fifth-round rookie Johnny White would serve as C.J. Spiller’s backup Sunday if Fred Jackson (calf) can’t go.
After Jackson went down last week, Spiller got the next three rush attempts. White cleaned up for the final two in garbage time and racked up four targets in the passing game. It’s been obvious all year that the Bills have no confidence in Spiller as an inside runner, meaning there’s a good chance White gets a fistful of touches against the Jets.
  • BUF Running Back #22
Fred Jackson has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Jets.
It’s never a good sign when a player is ruled out so early in the week, so owners now need to brace for the possibility of a multi-week absence. When asked if Jackson will be back before the end of the season, coach Chan Gailey said he didn’t know. C.J. Spiller will get the start against the Jets Sunday, but has shown an inability to run between the tackles throughout his career. Rookie Johnny White will be ready to serve in a change-of-pace role.
  • FA Running Back #34
Bills RB Johnny White received just one carry in Week 12, gaining two yards as Buffalo fell to the Jets.
The carry occurred early in the game inside New York’s ten-yard line. White remains a better option than Tashard Choice, but he’ll need a significant upgrade in playing time to be usable in fantasy football leagues going forward.

According to Chris Brown of BuffaloBills.com, Tashard Choice is expected to be active and see playing time in Sunday’s game against the Jets.
Choice only practiced twice since being signed by the Bills on Wednesday, but his familiarity with Buffalo’s offense will give him a good chance to play on third down and in short yardage situations. Choice has a history of success under coach Chan Gailey at Georgia Tech, and will vie for carries with Johnny White as the direct backup to C.J. Spiller.
  • FA Running Back #34
Bills RB Johnny White has been diagnosed with a concussion.
The fifth-round pick suffered the injury in Sunday’s loss to the Dolphins. With just four carries since Fred Jackson broke his leg in Week 11, White is a candidate for injured reserve.
  • FA Running Back #34
    Bills waived RB Johnny White.
White was signed in early September after the Fred Jackson injury, but now that he and Spiller are back to health, White isn’t needed. The second-year pro out of North Carolina has rushed for 72 yards on 20 carries over the past two seasons.
  • FA Running Back #34
Packers RB Johnny White was forced from Green Bay’s Week 12 game against the Giants with a concussion.
Even with the Packers’ recent backfield turmoil, White hasn’t touched the ball since Week 4. The special teamer is week-to-week.
  • FA Running Back #34
Packers claimed RB Johnny White off waivers from the Bills.
Although White has averaged just 3.6 yards per carry on 20 career attempts, he was billed as a one-cut zone runner coming out of North Carolina. That skill set would suit Green Bay’s zone-running offense. White will slot in behind Alex Green, John Kuhn, and James Starks on the depth chart for now, but he could appear on the late-season fantasy radar should injuries strike.
