Natson, 27, tore his ACL in Week 3 and has been rehabbing ever since, averaging 8.3 yards per punt return through Cleveland’s first three games. He’ll have an opportunity to retain that role in 2021.

Natson had recorded a 31-yard kick-off return and 8.3 yards per punt return as a primary special teamer through Cleveland’s first three games. The Browns also waived LB Montrel Meander.

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski on Monday morning confirmed Natson’s injury, suffered against Washington in the Browns’ Week 3 win. This could mean increased playing time for sixth-round pick WR Donovan Peoples-Jones, a returner and receiver.

Natson was non-tendered by the Rams earlier this month. The 5-foot-7 “wideout” is a strict special teamer. He will get a chance to earn return work in training camp.

The diminutive Natson is solid on punts and passable on kicks. He turned 26 last month. Natson should draw plenty of 90-man roster interest from teams with a need on special teams. His 53-man roster odds will be longer.

Natson was slapped with a 4-6 week timeline after going down on Sunday. The Rams were never going to wait that long for a return. The Rams’ primary return man on both punts and kicks, Natson was solid on punts and middle of the pack in kicks. Replacing him will be a headache for the stretch run. 25-year-old Natson is headed for restricted free agency.
