Jonathan Jeanne has been diagnosed with Marfan syndrome.
Marfan syndrome is the same diagnosis given to Isaiah Austin, and is potentially a career-ending disorder. Austin was cleared to play basketball in November 2016, so it’s possible Jeanne could have a similar outcome. This is still tough news for a player who was expected to go in the first round of the 2017 draft.
  • Jonathan Jeanne will work out for the Raptors on Wednesday.
Jeanne is a unique prospect as a 7'2" center with ball handling skills and 3-point range, although the 19-year-old out of France doesn’t have much professional basketball experience. He averaged just 13 minutes per game playing overseas last season, so it’s unlikely he’ll be able to make an immediate impact in fantasy hoops during his rookie year as he becomes familiarized with playing in the NBA.
