    Pugh may have been concussed for the second time this year, as his helmet banged hard on the turf. He was playing for starter Charles Godfrey, who was forced out with a shoulder injury.

    Pugh broke the news on his Twitter account. A 2010 sixth-round pick, Pugh appeared in 27 games for the Panthers the past two seasons, notching 31 tackles and one pick. Pugh should take Jordan Bernstine’s (knee, injured reserve) place on special teams and as a reserve safety.

    Panthers SS Charles Godfrey suffered a concussion in Week 2.
    Godrey has yet to practice this week, so there’s a chance he will miss Blaine Gabbert’s first career start. Jordan Pugh, who has seen time in place of Godfrey on nickel downs, is the fill-in. Shadow corner Chris Gamble tweaked his ankle in Thursday’s practice, but it’s not believed to be serious enough to keep him out this week.
