Judah Mintz finished Saturday’s loss to the Hornets with 24 points (5-of-13 FGs, 13-of-15 FTs), five rebounds, four assists and one three-pointer.
With VJ Edgecombe sidelined by a thumb injury, Mintz is one of the 76ers who have benefited from the available playing time. He finished Saturday’s defeat with a game-high 24 points but missed out on 26 when Ryan Kalkbrenner rejected his jumper in the final seconds. Between his finish to Philadelphia’s games in Salt Lake City and Saturday’s performance, Mintz is working hard to show he’s worthy of a training camp invitation, and possibly a two-way contract.
  • FA Point Guard #33
Judah Mintz led the 76ers with 26 points (9-of-15 FGs, 8-of-9 FTs), three assists and three steals in a 91-90 win over the Grizzlies on Tuesday.
With VJ Edgecombe (thumb) sidelined for a second straight game, Mintz remained in the starting lineup. 24 hours after he scored 21 points as a starter, he surpassed that mark by scoring a game-high 26 points in a win. Mintz has been fantastic and is well on his way to earning a two-way contract, even if it isn’t with the 76ers.
  • PHI Shooting Guard
VJ Edgecombe (thumb) has been ruled out against the Grizzlies on Tuesday.
This will be a second straight absence for Edgecombe, who also missed Monday’s game with the same thumb injury after dropping 28 points on Saturday. He’s still considered “day-to-day,” and the team previously indicated that this isn’t a severe injury. Judah Mintz should get another start.
  • Point Guard #33
Judah Mintz led the 76ers with 21 points (7-of-12 FGs), four rebounds, two assists, one steal and one three-pointer against the Thunder on Monday.
Before going undrafted in 2024, Mintz spent two seasons at Syracuse and was really productive. He played well for the Blue Coats in the G League this past season, which translated to a roster spot on Philadelphia’s Summer League squad. He played a small role in their first game, but he started with V.J. Edgecombe (thumb) sidelined for this one. He had a spectacular performance, and if he keeps this up, he could earn a two-way deal.
  • PHI Shooting Guard
VJ Edgecombe (thumb) will not play against the Thunder on Monday.
The injury is reportedly not considered serious, but they’re just playing things safe. After he scored 28 points on Saturday, there’s no reason to force him to play through the injury, especially in Summer League. He will be considered “day-to-day” moving forward, so he could be back to play against Memphis on Tuesday. Judah Mintz will start in his place.
  • PHI Point Guard
According to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the 76ers have signed Judah Mintz to an Exhibit 10 contract.
Mintz, who went undrafted after two seasons at Syracuse, averaged 18.8 points and 4.2 assists per game during his sophomore campaign. All three of Philadelphia’s two-way contract slots are filled, so he’ll need an impressive training camp to work his way into the mix. In all likelihood, Mintz will spend the majority of his time with the 76ers G League affiliate.
