Broncos waived RB Juwan Thompson, OLB Sadat Sulleyman, and OLB Vontarrius Dora.
Thompson was competing for the final running back spot in Denver behind C.J. Anderson, Devontae Booker, and Kapri Bibbs. Thompson has some positional versatility as an RB/FB hybrid and can also play special teams.
  • FA Running Back
The Broncos have moved Juwan Thompson to fullback.
Thompson was buried behind C.J. Anderson, Devontae Booker, and Ronnie Hillman on the depth chart. The move to fullback is his only chance to keep his spot. Thompson needs to hold off rookie Andy Janovich.
  • FA Running Back
Broncos promoted RB Juwan Thompson from their practice squad.
Thompson will take the roster spot of C.J. Anderson (knee), who was officially placed on injured reserve. Kapri Bibbs should serve as the No. 2 behind Devontae Booker, but Thompson could get some carries as well.
  • FA Running Back
The Jets had a tryout for Juwan Thompson on Tuesday.
The Broncos let the hybrid back go earlier this month to make him a free agent. As for the Jets situation, Matt Forte called the trade reports “fake news” last week and the Jets may also want to get a look at Elijah McGuire at some point this season. Still, their lack of depth at the skill positions will probably lead to some esoteric players having low-end fantasy impact in deep leagues.

    Broncos waived RB Juwan Thompson.
A sort of fullback-tailback hybrid who stuck around for longer than expected in Denver, Thompson was made expendable by De’Angelo Henderson’s emergence.
  • FA Running Back
Undrafted rookie RB Juwan Thompson rushed for 59 yards on six carries in the Broncos’ preseason opener.
Thompson made the most of his opportunities with Montee Ball (appendectomy) and C.J. Anderson (concussion) sidelined. Already a solid pass protector and special teams player, Thompson showed on Thursday night he can be an effective runner as well. He has a shot to crack the final roster.
  • FA Running Back
Undrafted rookie Juwan Thompson has moved to No. 4 on the Broncos’ tailback depth chart.
He’s running ahead of fellow UDFAs Kapri Bibbs and Brennan Clay, and behind Montee Ball, Ronnie Hillman, and C.J. Anderson. At a sturdy 5-foot-11, 226, Thompson ran a respectable 4.57 forty at Duke’s Pro Day with a 9-foot-11 broad jump after playing in Blue Devils coach David Cutcliffe’ pro-style offense. He knows how to pass protect and is someone to monitor in extra-deep leagues.
  • FA Running Back
Second-year RB Juwan Thompson is reportedly challenging for the Broncos’ No. 2 running back job.
Thompson averaged 5.0 yards on 54 carries as an undrafted rookie out of Duke last season, scoring three touchdowns. He’s reportedly putting heat on Montee Ball and Ronnie Hillman behind C.J. Anderson. “Forty (Thompson’s number) looked unbelievable today,” coach Gary Kubiak said after Saturday’s practice. “He’s built for what we do.” It’s time to add Thompson in all Dynasty leagues and put him on the re-draft sleeper radar.
  • FA Running Back #31
The Denver Post reports RB Montee Ball is being pushed by Juwan Thompson for the No. 3 spot on the depth chart.
Ball has already been jumped by Ronnie Hillman, and it appears Juwan Thompson could be next. Ball has never flashed at the NFL level, and he has reportedly been “slumping” in training camp. His spot on the roster is not secure.
  • FA Running Back
The Denver Post’s Troy Renck reported the expectation is Broncos RB Juwan Thompson did not suffer a serious neck injury Week 3 against the Lions.
Thompson was forced to leave the game after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit in the second quarter. He never returned. Thompson is the Broncos’ No. 3 running back behind C.J. Anderson and Ronnie Hillman.
