Jimenez has a 10.41 ERA in 23 1/3 innings for the Cardinals this season. By all means, rush to pick him up.

Jimenez got off to a nice start for the Cardinals, but he had been terrible over the last month, giving up 24 runs in 13 1/3 innings. It’s surprising he lasted as long as he did.

The surprising news today that the Cardinals are leaning towards keeping Anthony Reyes as a reliever could result in Jimenez returning to Triple-A. He had looked like the leader for the last spot in the pen. He has a 3.86 ERA in 14 innings this spring.

Jimenez was sent down on June 1, but he had been unable to pitch for Memphis, forcing the Cardinals to place him on the major league disabled list.
