    Texans waived DL Kingsley Keke.
Keke was claimed off waivers from the Packers in the offseason, but Houston’s recent signings of Rasheem Green and Mario Addison appear to have pushed him off the roster. Keke has shown some pass-rush capability in limited snaps in 2021 and 2020, so he may be claimed again. The Texans also waived OL Sam Cooper.

  • FA Defensive Lineman #96
Packers declared DL Kingsley Keke, LB Isaiah McDuffie, S Vernon Scott, and OLB La’Darius Hamilton inactive for Week 9 against the Chiefs.
No surprises here. Marquez Valdes-Scantling is available upon being activated from injured reserve.

  • FA Outside Linebacker #52
Packers placed Za’Darius Smith on the non-football injury list.
The Packers also placed defensive end Kingsley Keke and cornerback Kevin King, among a handful of others, on the NFI list. All of the players will be eligible to return once medically cleared so there’s little cause for concern at this moment. Smith signed a four-year deal with the Packers two seasons ago and has been nothing but spectacular since, racking up 26 sacks while never missing a regular season game. He’ll be eying a third consecutive Pro Bowl if this injury doesn’t cause him any trouble.

  • FA Defensive Lineman #96
Packers selected Texas A&M DL Kingsley Keke with the No. 150 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Keke (6’3/288) made 34 starts on the Aggies’ interior line, graduating with 21 career tackles for loss and 12 sacks. A one-trick gap shooter who gets washed out on running downs, Keke confirmed his explosive up-field burst with a sub-5.0 forty and 7.55 three-cone time at nearly 290 pounds before the draft. Keke offers Malik Jackson-level upside as an interior sub-rusher. It’s not a stretch to say he’ll compete from Day One on the Packers’ interior defensive line.
