A two-time All-American at Southern Illinois, Lindsey was drafted by the Bengals in the seventh round last year. He’s since been waived three times. Undrafted rookie S Micah Pellerin was waived to create roster space.

After spending most of his rookie season on the practice squad, the seventh-rounder out of Southern Illinois was a healthy scratch for three games. The Cardinals signed undrafted rookie WR Gino Crump to take Lindsey’s roster spot.

A seventh-round rookie, Lindsey has now been waived by both the Bengals and Cardinals. Arizona ranks 26th against the pass even though it has faced Rex Grossman, Tarvaris Jackson, and Cam Newton in his first NFL start.

Lindsey signed a reserve/future deal in early January. The 2011 seventh-round pick has yet to appear in an NFL game, and is unlikely to do so in 2013.

A three-year starter and two-time All-American for the Salukis, Linsdey is an underrated small-school prospect with NFL ability. He showed playmaking skills (14 career interceptions), solid technique, and a willingness to play the run in college. Even if he’s not starter-caliber, the Bengals can develop him into a solid nickel or dime back.

A seventh-round pick, Lindsey was waived by Cincinnati on Saturday. The Cardinals are extremely thin at cornerback right now, so there’s a chance Lindsey might be called on to play more than special teams if he’s active in Week 1.
