    Rams waived OT Kyle Murphy.
The move comes with a “non-football injury” designation. Murphy was placed on injured reserve with an ankle issue by the Packers last September. The 2016 sixth-rounder has made six career appearances, including three 2017 starts in Green Bay.
  • Packers placed OT Kyle Murphy (ankle) on injured reserve.
It’s an underrated loss; OTs David Bakhtiari and Bryan Bulaga have struggled with injuries, and Murphy was ticketed for swing-tackle duties behind them. The Packers will presumably roll with Jason Spriggs in that role for 2018.
  • Packers selected Stanford OT Kyle Murphy with the No. 200 overall pick of the 2016 NFL draft.
Murphy (6'6/305) was a two-year starter for the Cardinal, manning right tackle as a junior before protecting Kevin Hogan’s blind side in his senior year. Murphy earned first-team All-Pac 12 accolades in 2015. A ‘tweener NFL prospect, Murphy isn’t quite a good enough athlete to excel on the left side and lacks ideal playing strength for a right tackle. His best NFL fit is as a swing-tackle reserve.
  • Packers placed OT Kyle Murphy on injured reserve with a foot issue.
It’s an unwanted development for the Packers’ banged up line, as Murphy had been filling in for David Bakhtiari (hamstring) on the blindside. The No. 200 overall pick of last year’s draft, Murphy had been struggling mightily when on the field. Bakhtiari (hamstring) has resumed practicing.
