NFL suspended free agent WR Leonte Carroo four games.
Carroo’s violation is unclear. Carroo was a restricted free agent who was not tendered an offer by the Dolphins. Headed into his age-25 campaign, Carroo was a complete bust as a 2016 third-round pick for the ‘Fins, catching 12 passes across 37 career games.

The Dolphins declined to tender restricted free agent WR Leonte Carroo, making him an unrestricted free agent.
The Fins traded up to draft Carroo in third round in 2016, but he never caught on for a big role and failed to warm up to Adam Gase’s coaching staff. Brian Flores’ staff didn’t see much in him, either.

Dolphins signed WR Leonte Carroo off their practice squad.
Carroo is back in the fold after getting cut by the team at final cuts over the summer. The former third-rounder will be the No. 4 wideout this week.

Dolphins third-round WR Leonte Carroo could begin the season as a gameday inactive.
Carroo is locked into a roster spot, but he looks to be behind veteran Griff Whalen on the depth chart. With fellow rookie Jakeem Grant an important contributor on special teams, Carroo would likely be the odd man out on gameday. The rookie is extremely talented, but his path to redraft relevance is a long one.

The Miami Herald reports third-round WR Leonte Carroo has had a “good camp,” and the Dolphins are “eager to see more.”
“He’s been making some positive plays,” coach Adam Gase said. “His biggest thing is mentally, what are we going to do? Is he going to keep growing? Are we going to get stuck? Are we going to have that rookie wall hit? He’s going to keep rolling on that.” Carroo is an upside prospect who had a solid offseason, but will have trouble earning targets behind Jarvis Landry, DeVante Parker, Kenny Stills, Arian Foster and even Jordan Cameron.

Dolphins coach Adam Gase conceded Tuesday that third-round pick Leonte Carroo “has got a little ways to go.”
Gase mostly praised Carroo, commending him for his talent and work habits. But he also hinted at why Carroo hasn’t made a run yet for work in three-receiver sets. “He doesn’t know some of the things he needs to know to help himself,” said Gase. “That (comes) a little bit from experience.” Parker is the Dolphins’ No. 4 receiver behind Jarvis Landry, Kenny Stills, and DeVante Parker.

Dolphins third-round WR Leonte Carroo has impressed at OTAs.
Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald said Carroo “made quite an impression.” Teammate S Michael Thomas added that Carroo’s physical skill set reminds him of a faster Anquan Boldin. Carroo will spend the next five weeks honing his craft with No. 1 receiver Jarvis Landry. Carroo is off to a solid start in his battle with Kenny Stills to earn snaps behind Landry and DeVante Parker.

Leonte Carroo caught one pass for five yards in Thursday’s preseason game.
It was his only target. Carroo was running a distant fourth on the depth chart, and perhaps even behind Griff Whalen. Carroo was a steady presence in offseason puff pieces, but isn’t going to have a meaningful role on offense to begin the year. He has four catches for 23 yards through three preseason games.

Dolphins signed third-round WR Leonte Carroo to a four-year contract.
The Dolphins traded three picks to move up for Carroo on day two, suggesting he’ll have a real shot at carving out a role this season. Carroo is just 6-foot-0, 211 pounds, but has good speed and elite ball skills. He’s unlikely to make much of a re-draft impact in 2016, but is an intriguing Dynasty league stash.

Dolphins third-round pick Leonte Carroo is trying to shed weight before the season.
After measuring 6-foot, 211 in Indy, Carroo said he currently weighs 217 and wants to get down to 210. “You become faster when you shed some pounds,” he said. “I don’t have any bad weight on me. That’s what I was at the Combine. Why not be as fast and explosive as I can be?” Carroo will enter camp competing for sub-package snaps behind Jarvis Landry and DeVante Parker.
