Dolphins released CB Mackensie Alexander with an injury settlement.
Alexander quickly landed on injured reserve after signing with Miami in mid-August. This settlement suggests he is at or near full health. Alexander is coming off a rough season, but he could land with a corner needy team.

Dolphins signed CB Mackenzie Alexander to a one-year contract.
Alexander was toasted in 2021, finishing the year with a 41.1 PFF coverage rating in 495 coverage snaps. But he has generally been better than that throughout his career and is a fine depth signing in reaction to the Trill Williams ACL injury. Alexander will probably not see major snaps without more injuries ahead of him.

Vikings signed CB Mackensie Alexander, formerly of the Bengals.
Alexander spent his first four seasons in Minnesota before spending the 2020 season in Cincinnati. After one shaky year, he’s back with the Vikings and projects as their starting slot corner. This is a win-win for both parties. Alexander can regroup before the salary cap expands next offseason, and the Vikings’ young secondary gets a veteran in the locker room.

All charges against Bengals CB Mackensie Alexander related to an August battery incident have been dismissed.
Alexander left training camp in August after his father was reported missing. Alexander allegedly confronted the man who left his father behind on a berry-picking trip. His father was eventually found. Alexander signed with the Bengals in March 2020. ESPN’s Ben Baby expects him to walk in free agency.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports Bengals CB Mackensie Alexander was arrested on one count of battery Tuesday evening.
Alexander, who had recently left camp after his father was reported missing in Florida, allegedly confronted the man who initially left behind his father on a berry-picking trip. Alexander remains in custody and no arrest report has been released. We expect to hear more details surrounding this story soon.

Bengals CB Mackensie Alexander (personal) left training camp.
Unfortunately, Alexander’s father is missing in Florida after leaving on a berry-picking excursion on Monday. Authorities are still searching, so Alexander understandably will be away from team facilities for the time being and it’s unclear when he will return. The Bengals’ season opener is on September 13 against the Chargers. We wish the Alexander family the best.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports the Bengals signed CB Mackensie Alexander.
Alexander played in 55-of-64 games with the Vikings after being selected in the second round of the 2016 draft. The primary slot CB was the “best” corner in Minnesota last season, although he was ultimately just PFF’s No. 53 overall CB among 133 qualified players. The Bengals are expected to move forward with Alexander, Trae Waynes, Dre Kirkpatrick and William Jackson as their top-four CBs in 2020.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports free agent CB Mackensie Alexander (knee) has been cleared for football activities.
Alexander had his meniscus trimmed in January but has made a full recovery within two months. It’s perfect timing for him as he heads into free agency with a clean bill of health. A 26-year-old with some starting experience, Alexander should have a market for his services as a mid-level starter. The Clemson alum was a second-rounder in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Vikings placed CB Mackensie Alexander (knee) on injured reserve.
The Vikings signed rookie DB Nate Meadors in a corresponding roster move. Mike Hughes (neck, IR) is also done for the season, leaving Xavier Rhodes (PFF’s No. 123 CB), Trae Waynes (No. 69) and S Andrew Sandejo to pick up the slack. Only nine teams had at least four CBs graded outside of PFF’s top-50 corners this season. The Texans (5) and Vikings (4) are the only playoff teams to appear on that list.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports Vikings CB Mackensie Alexander (knee) won’t play in their Divisional Round matchup against the 49ers.
Alexander will undergo arthroscopic surgery Thursday for a “small” tear in his meniscus but may be able to return to the field if the Vikings advance beyond the Divisional Round. He’ll be replaced by Andrew Sendejo and Holton Hill in the interim, immediately pinning both against Emmanuel Sanders in nickel packages on Sunday. Dee Ford, Jaquiski Tartt, and Kwon Alexander meanwhile are expected back for San Francisco.
