Mariot bolsters Seattle’s pitching depth at Triple-A Tacoma as extra long relief depth. The 36-year-old righty last appeared in the majors for the Reds back in 2023 when he made one relief appearance. He’s merely organizational fodder at this stage of his career.

Mariot went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment earlier this week. The 34-year-old allowed one run over 2 2/3 innings on Monday against the Mariners in his first appearance in the majors since 2016. He’ll go back to serving as organizational depth.

Mariot hasn’t pitched in the majors since the 2016 campaign, but he figures to get the ball at some point during Monday’s bullpen game against the Cubs as a long relief option. The 34-year-old journeyman right-hander was up briefly back in mid-July, but never wound up making an appearance.

Mariot went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment last weekend and will presumably stick around with Cincinnati as extra organizational pitching depth. The 34-year-old right-hander didn’t wind up making an appearance for the Reds, and still hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since the 2016 season.

Mariot was added to the Reds roster on Saturday but didn’t get into the game and was quickly removed from the 40-man roster on Sunday. The 34-yeear-old will likely go unclaimed on waivers and return to the Reds’ minor league system.

Mariot signed a minor league contract with the Reds last month after pitching for the Cleburne Railroaders in the independent American Association. The 34-year-old journeyman right-hander hasn’t appeared in the majors since the 2016 campaign when he made a career-high 25 relief appearances for the Phillies.

The 34-year-old hurler hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since the 2016 season, but continues to hold onto the dream. He had been pitching for the Cleburne Railroaders in the independent American Association where he registered a 5.06 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and a 29/5 K/BB ratio over 26 2/3 innings. He’ll add pitching depth at the Triple-A level for the Reds.

Mariot was acquired from the Phillies last month for cash considerations to give Detroit some emergency starting pitching depth and hasn’t made an appearance in the majors this season. The 33-year-old veteran righty hasn’t appeared in the majors since the 2016 campaign.

Mariot, who signed a minor league contract with the Phillies back in April, will provide the Tigers with some extra starting pitching depth moving forward this season. The 33-year-old righty, who last appeared in the majors back in 2016, has posted a 4.64 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 36/21 K/BB ratio across 52 1/3 innings (11 starts) this season at Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
