Adam Bostick allowed one run in four innings and struck out four Thursday for the Javelinas of the AFL.
After getting roughed up in his AFL debut, Bostick has pitched better his last two times out, leaving him with a 6.00 ERA in nine innings. The 23-year-old left-hander spent most of this season at Double-A Carolina, where he was 8-7 with a 3.53 ERA. Including a stint at Triple-A, he finished with a 139/80 K/BB ratio in 142 innings. The Marlins have no shortage of prospects with more upside, but Bostick might prove to be useful as a reliever at some point. He’ll open next year at Albuquerque.
