Angels placed RHP Matt Shoemaker on the 10-day disabled list with a strained right forearm.
He didn’t throw his usual day-after bullpen session after leaving Wednesday’s start early and will now miss his next start, though Shoemaker figures to be back as soon as his 10 days are up. Parker Bridwell is expected to start in Shoemaker’s place Tuesday against the Yankees.

Adam Bostick was levied a 50-game suspension after a second positive test in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment program.
Bostick, 27, was signed to a minor league contract over the winter and was on the roster with Triple-A Omaha. The suspension will begin immediately. He spent last season in the Mets’ organization, posting a 3.05 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in 39 appearances (one start) between Double-A Binghamton and Triple-A Buffalo.

LHP Adam Bostick was traded from the Marlins to the Mets in a four-player deal.
The 23-year-old Bostick is the lesser property of the four arms swapped by the Mets and Marlins, but he did strike out 139 batters in 142 innings between Double- and Triple-A last season. He has a chance of turning into a middle reliever if he can cut back on the walks.

Adam Bostick allowed one run in four innings and struck out four Thursday for the Javelinas of the AFL.
After getting roughed up in his AFL debut, Bostick has pitched better his last two times out, leaving him with a 6.00 ERA in nine innings. The 23-year-old left-hander spent most of this season at Double-A Carolina, where he was 8-7 with a 3.53 ERA. Including a stint at Triple-A, he finished with a 139/80 K/BB ratio in 142 innings. The Marlins have no shortage of prospects with more upside, but Bostick might prove to be useful as a reliever at some point. He’ll open next year at Albuquerque.

    Royals released LHP Adam Bostick.
Bostick recently completed a 50-game suspension following a second positive test for a drug of abuse. The 27-year-old left-hander hasn’t appeared in a game this season.
