Yeah, baby. Powers split the 2021 campaign between the Diamondbacks and Padres Triple-A affiliates, posting a lackluster 5.40 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 61/21 K/BB ratio across 48 1/3 innings (35 appearances, three starts). The 29-year-old righty will bolster the Tigers’ organizational relief depth this upcoming season.

Powers was part of the Reds’ 60-man player pool. The 28-year-old spent last season between Double- and Triple-A while posting a 1.64 ERA and 66/18 K/BB ratio over 49 1/3 relief innings.

Powers was a 25th-round pick out of Southern New Hampshire, and he’s coming off a season where he saved 18 games for Double-A Pensacola with a 55/11 K/BB ratio along with a 2.39 ERA. He’ll have a slim chance to compete for a spot in the Cincinnati bullpen, but he’ll most likely pitch at Triple-A Louisville for most of the 2019 season.
